Woman Charged With Hitting Ex-Husband With Kitchen Pot

December 9, 2016

A Walnut Hill woman has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after allegedly striking her ex-husband in the side of the face with a metal kitchen pot.

Shelley Denise Foster, 46, was booked into the Escambia County Jail where she remained Thursday with bond set at $5,000.

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported domestic disturbance on Foster Road off South Pineville Road. When they arrived, they found Foster’s ex-husband covered in blood with a wound to his face. He told deputies that Foster struck him with an unknown object.

Foster told deputies that her ex-husband began to call her vulgar names and threw her onto the kitchen floor. She said she swung a kitchen pot that she had in her hands in attempt to escape her ex.

She also told deputies that she had been ordered by a judge to stay away from her ex-husband. She went to his house, where she currently lives, to retrieve items for a court case, according to the arrest report.

The ex-husband was highly intoxicated at the time  of the incident, telling deputies that he had consumed two pints of whiskey. He denied any wrongdoing toward his ex-wife.

The woman claimed that her ex-husband unsuccessfully tried to hit her with a piece of wood, and she said that her back and arms should be bruised or scratched from the altercation. Deputies said in their report that she showed no sign of any injuries.

Deputies arrested Foster at the scene and seized the metal pot as evidence.

This must be a reenactment of a 50’s cartoon. How many lumps do you want Doc?

Ignorance might be bliss, both sound pretty stupid.

Why do you suppose he didn’t call the law when she showed up….

Too sweet and innocent I suppose.

  3. Known the man my whole life on December 11th, 2016 12:00 am

It clearly states “she went to his home where she resides” HIS HOME. They can’t make it any clearer folks… I know them Both and have been out in PUBLIC when they have started arguing and fighting after she had instigated a situation. I have known the man my whole life and his daughter and her mother and he is not this text book definition of a woman beater you folks are painting him to be. Yeah he drinks. He has always drank. SO DOES SHE! They are bad for each other and clearly she was already arrested and told BY A JUDGE TO STAY AWAY. So she went back there to pick another fight. And so what he was drunk … HE WAS AT HIS HOUSE!!!!!!! he didn’t not Seek her she WENT TO HIS HOUSE. And “no evidence of injury to her was found” ……….. why is everyone making assumptions about things that have already been proven? There is no need to assume he was beating her or SHE WOULD HAVE MARKS AND WOULD HAVE BEEN ARRESTED TOO.

  4. Ignorance is bliss on December 10th, 2016 11:43 pm

I just love how people can pick and choose what they want to out of a story. FOSTER WAS AT HIS HOME WHERE SHE RESIDES AND WAS ALREADY TOLD BY A JUDGE TO STAY AWAY…. if you don’t know him don’t you dare put your ignorant thoughts in and try to bad mouth him. I’ve known the man my whole life and getting involved with this psycho was the biggest mistake of his life. THEY BOTH DRINK. And then fight and it turns bad quick but she instigates it. And so what if was drinking FOSTER WAS IN HIS HOME….. she had no business being there. So if you gonna comment then at least know what your talking about. clearly SHE WAS ORDERED AWAY FOR A REASON which means she was the one that got arrested already and then went back for more so please get the facts that are alertly WRITTEN IN FRONT OF YOU STRAIGHT!!!!!

No crime about being drunk in your own home. She violated a court order to stay away and within that violation, she committed an assault. Good job Deputies.

Ever notice how quick people are to say the man should be srrested. My mom beat upon my dad all the time. Guess he would have been arrested. But it is good to see the woman arrested, at least this time. Sad relationships sink to this level. Both need to stop the drinking..

More to the story??? If he went after the ex wife yes she deserves to defend herself. He needed to be in county for being drunk and starting the fight.

One was scared & the other was glad of it , couple of drunks – the judge said STAY AWAY dah

    * Point is, if you are giving a court order to stay away, then that’s exactly what you better do! If you need legal papers from an area you were ordered to stay away from because the person lives there, then try to get a deputy escort or explain to the judge your situation! NEVER disobey a judge’s order! That never ends up working out for your good, no matter who did what.

We need a one-liner on the divorce papers. You go near this person, you go to jail. Of course, we will have to build tower to house all of these people, lol.

If y’all only knew how bad this relationship was and all the times the law has been called on her and she just keeps going back when she gets out if jail the dumb one is him for letting her come back after all she has done to him!!!

  17. ACMC on December 9th, 2016 11:09 am

Whose home in which this event took place were they? If her home, what was he doing drunk in her home? If his home, what was she doing in his home? I felt that the article left out this very important piece of information to the story.

  18. Puddin on December 9th, 2016 10:50 am

This is crazy. What are they not saying? A woman isn’t allowed to defend herself anymore? Insane.

  19. Know them both! on December 9th, 2016 10:31 am

For those that don’t know, she resides with her exhusband and was planned to remarry him!! She is well known for starting a physical altercation with him and if she could not get a rise out of him, she would call the deputy’s! The deputy’s got tired of her nonsense and evaluated the situation and took the guilty party to jail, as she had no bruises or marks!! There is always more to every story!!

I know the man personally and he does get drunk but he has never had the will to hurt anyone. She is a wild woman!!!

  21. No Excuses on December 9th, 2016 10:02 am

I don’t know if Florida state law has changed on this issue or not, but if a domestic violence call comes in, SOMEONE is going to jail. I guess maybe the evidence was more on the ex-husband’s side? It does seem to me that if she was defending herself, that should have been taken into account. If she did not have bruises or scratches at the scene, she may have them now. I’d make sure to show them to any and all correctional staff at the jail, if that is indeed the case.

On a side note: Only in Escambia County! The truth is stranger than fiction sometimes.

Nice thing about a good old fashioned cast iron fry pan is you don’t have to stop to reload.
Ex-husband should be the one on the inside looking out.

  23. Don on December 9th, 2016 8:17 am

Both should have been arrested for mutual combat.

Another thing……I understand why she was arrested but damn…the place where the incident occurred is about 50 miles past the point of no where. SO she is supposed to call the cops and wait for help to arrive while getting beat on. Hell I hit with the first available thing too…I agree with others he’s lucky it wasn’t a shotgun.

  25. KK on December 9th, 2016 6:10 am

He was “highly intoxicated” and she hit him with the first thing she could pick up to get away from him and they arrested her? He’s lucky it was a pot and not a gun.

  26. Sam on December 9th, 2016 6:09 am

Sounds like they arrested the wrong person.

  27. Good grief on December 9th, 2016 5:39 am

Ladies leave your exes alone, he is your ex for a reason. Men leave your exes alone, she is your ex for a reason. Move forward, don’t keep going backwards with your ex. They are in the past for a reason. Another thing, nothing good comes from alcohol.

  28. area resident on December 9th, 2016 5:36 am

He’s drunk, throws her on the floor, and she’s the one in jail for self defense. Must be more to the story.

    This one makes no sense.
