Newly Elected Rep. Frank White Takes First Step Toward Re-election Bid

November 26, 2016

After winning a seat in the Florida House on November 8, Rep. Frank White, R-Pensacola, has taken the first step toward running for re-election in 2018.

White and newly elected Rep. Rene Plasencia, R-Orlando, joined 22 incumbent House members in opening campaign accounts for 2018, according to the Florida Division of Elections website.

White won 61.3 percent of the vote earlier this month as he defeated Democrat Ray Guillory in House District 2, which includes the southern part of Escambia County and small area of Santa Rosa County.

You cannot roll over campaign funds in Florida state elections. Contributions are not tax deductible. The truth is his showing was poor for a Republican. He spent $150,000 against my $7000. He needs to raise a lot of cash to hold the seat and ward off primary challengers.

He probably did it because he had money left over in his campaign account. He has to either roll it over to a new campaign account or give it away to charity or to another candidate’s campaign account. He can’t keep the money for himself or spend it on his own personal matters. So, it looks like he is simply being responsible with his campaign finances. If he decides not to run again he can give the money away then.

Why bother? He’s a Republican. All he has to do is get on the ballot with the “R” next to his name and you people will vote for him. The only cost will be his filing fee.

Seems pretty presumptuous that he thinks we will want to re-elect him.

But maybe there is some sort of income tax benefit to those that desire to contribute to his campaign fund?

Or maybe it sets up an account where those seeking political “favors” can make a deposit.

Remember, once a person is elected to any office, they are always planning for the next election…kinda like perpetual motion. This observation applies to all parties of whatever political stripe they may be!

Excuse me, he just won the election and has already started his campaign for 2018? Seems like he should be more concerned with the problems at hand for what he was elected to do and NOT start out campaigning for reelection in 2018. Seems like him and the others are doing exactly what the RINO’s do.
