Miracle League Holds Annual Turkey Fry
November 24, 2016
The Miracle League of Pensacola held their annual turkey fry fundraiser Wednesday at their park on East Nine Mile Road.
Volunteers with the Miracle League spent their day frying turkeys for a minimum donation, with all of the proceeds going to benefit the Miracle League.
The Miracle League provides physically and mentally challenged children a safe and spirited program in which they can hit, run, and catch on a baseball field – just like other kids. MLP offers a unique and memorable opportunity these children would not otherwise have. It is a place where every player plays, every player hits, every player gets on base, every player scores, and every player wins – every inning.

good job DARRIN LEATHERBERRY
I wish the Flomaton Fire Dept. would fry turkeys for area residents this Christmas Eve or the day before. It could benefit the public by protecting everyone from possible fires, and it could be a fundraiser for the fire dept. They could charge a $20 fee or request a donation or something. I know everyone around here loves fried turkeys but it’s so dangerous and expensive to do it yourself. Also, we shouldn’t be frying turkeys outside during a drought.
Thanks to all involved in making this a success this year. A shout out to these guys and a heartfelt thanks. The first pic is a good friend and volunteer Darin Leatherberry . the second pic shows two of our BEST Tim Godwin on left and Steve Langham on right. This production could NOT happen without these two dedicated Board members and parents. the final group are also very good friends of mine who step up in many cases. This year they joined us and were a tremendous help. as I was limited on my capabilities I want to thank all of them from the bottom of my heart.
Our turkey was very good..Great job folks..
Had the Miracle League fry my turkey again this year and it was delicious, they do an amazing job. Thank you Miracle League.
