Corrections Officers Go Back To PBA
November 16, 2016
The Florida Police Benevolent Association said Tuesday it has won an election to represent state corrections officers and probation officers, after five years of representation by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
The Florida PBA had served as the collective-bargaining representative for Department of Corrections workers for three decades but was ousted in 2011 by the Teamsters. The PBA campaigned to regain the representation this year and said in a news release Tuesday that the Florida Public Employees Relations Commission verified that it had received 73 percent of the vote.

Neither pba nor any other union can help because the”teeth” of a union is the ability to strike. Law enforcement and corrections do not have that option. Therefore, unions have nothing to preasure the admin or bargain with.
We have not had a raise in around 10 years. They were there before and did nothing, don’t see it changing.
Maybe now we will see a change for the better
