Scott: Trump Remarks ‘Absolutely Wrong’

October 9, 2016

Gov. Rick Scott expressed disapproval of lewd comments by Donald Trump that emerged Friday, but stopped short of condemning the Republican presidential hopeful.

Scott chairs a super PAC backing the GOP nominee.

“I think what he said was wrong,” Scott said while making an appearance at Jacksonville’s Cecil Field to discuss Hurricane Matthew recovery efforts. “I don’t know why anybody would say things like that. I think it’s absolutely wrong.”

But when asked if he still supported Trump, Scott turned back to Hurricane Matthew recovery.

“There is going to be a time for politics,” Scott said. “Right now we’ve got one million people, I think, still without power. We’re working hard to get everybody back to work. There will still be plenty of time for politics when this is over.”

Trump was recorded making lewd and sexually aggressive remarks in 2005 while taking part in an unaired segment for “Access Hollywood.” Video of his recorded remarks was released Friday, causing a firestorm throughout the political arena.

After issuing a statement on Friday in which he “apologized if anyone was offended,” Trump, who has struggled to attract female voters, issued a defiant 90-second video early Saturday, apologizing and calling the 2005 tape a “distraction.”

“I’ve never said I’m a perfect person nor pretended to be someone that I’m not. I’ve said and done things I regret and the words released today, on this more than a decade old video, are one of them,” he said in the video released by his campaign. “I was wrong and I apologize,” he added.

Trump also attempted to shift from his own gaffe, which elicited condemnation from numerous fellow Republicans, to the conduct of former President Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary, the Democratic presidential nominee.

“I’ve said some foolish things but there is a big difference between the words and actions of other people. Bill Clinton has actually abused women,” he asserted.

For Scott, the question about Trump’s recorded comment is the second political issue he’s sidestepped this week by focusing on Matthew.

Scott said Thursday and Friday he had no intention of extending the state’s voter registration period, despite being urged to do so by the Clinton campaign, Democratic members of Florida’s Congressional delegation, the League of Women Voters of Florida and the American Civil Liberties Union of Florida.

Tuesday is the last day to register in Florida for the Nov. 8 election.

Still not nearly as bad as Crooked Hillary, and what about all the Vince Foster’s that are connected to the Clinton Family, way too many dead corpses laying around to be a coincidence, five more just during this election cycle, why aren’t
these being discussed. Hillary will take our gun rights, and have free and open border’s, and she is beholden to some of the most powerful Arab nation’s.

I really wish there could be “town home” Q&A between the main stream media. Let them bring their most outspoken experts. These people are the ones pushing their agendas for their “champions.” Let us hear how they feel against peer opposition.

I am tired of the local (ABC) people out of New York, having a near orgasm due a misspeak, or a sniff, from Don Trump. Sort of like ABC pushing Disney movies, to an intolerant extent, but they remind you, Disney owns ABC.

What is sad/funny about this outrage over Trump remarks is that there is no outrage about the degrading of women in the RAP music/ pop culture to include actors/ actresses and musicians who express this sexual innuendo daily It is ALL “”.kill Trrump” at any cost .

I am voting for Donald and have forgiven him in my heart for his foolish remarks, remarks made when he was younger and not considering the calling that God has placed upon him.

A nation $20,000,000,000,000.00 in debt will not endure the socialist programs that Hillary will bring, not to mention massive immigration, moreover I feel that she is a corrupting force to all that she interfaces with.

I pray that Mr Trump wins the election, but I have my waterproof Hillary Boxes ready, for to bury firearms and ammunition. I fear that Hillary and bad days are coming, unless Jesus cuts them short, or Yewah the father (God) decides otherwise

The first thing that I see is that the locker room talk goes on each and ever day with men and women. Go to any high powered corporate office or political office and you will see many, not all, leaders that use their positions for sex and personal gain. It is said to say that this is the normal these days. I am a Trump supporter but he is wrong to use position of power for that type stuff.

We also need to remember that the Clintons are nowhere near perfect in their sex issues that have occurred but worse are the number of people that have been around them that have dies very strange deaths after they disagreed with them over the years. Research it and see. The media just will not attack those issues or discuss them because they are pro-liberal in their leadership.

Now on the issues, neither candidates are talking the issues that face the country and the world. They do some basic discussions but that is it. You have to consider who is going to be able to work with congress the best to get things done since congress is really the starting point. Presidential decrees are nothing but being a dictator when you cannot get your way. Both sides have to forget their differences for a spell and do what is best for the country as a whole. Listen to the people who put them in office and not just a vocal few. I know their are people in congress who cannot stand that thought since they feel they are the only intelligent people (Pelosi for instance) but the rank and file people do have ideas that could move things forward if just asked.

This year the election will be different than I have seen in my 56 years of life. It worries me for my children and grandchildren’s future if this is the view of the future. Our founding fathers would not act in this fashion. Just my thoughts.

To think I would see in my lifetime a candidate for POTUS act in such a way is something I would have never thought possible. Thank God most of the Veterans from WWII have passed on and how disappointed would they be at us for allowing this to happen. They had reservations about our ability to carry the torch of freedom and maybe they were right. If we had seen a story of a Communist leader threatening to jail their opponent when we were young it would have been followed by a feeling of relief that we live in the USA and things like that don’t happen here. We can all look back now and remember how good things once were as we have lost yet another piece of our Liberty.

I watched the debate tonite!! The very last question (from the undecideds) was pretty good- “what good quality do you each see in one another?”. they both gave good answers…did anyone else see the fly that would not leave Hillary alone? Reminded me of the fly that wouldn’t leave Obama alone during one of his speeches.. hhmmmmm- wonder what that means?

Women just stop acting like your so offended. Women talk & act worse than men in the ” locker room”. Let’s now pretend ladies. I’m not a prude by far, and women will make me cringe with their actions & conversations,

    REGARDING”
“You have to have blinders on to not know that this trash talk is going on daily in locker rooms/dorms by males and females. I have heard it all in the military, It is all part of procreation.”

I admit I do not know what goes on in women’s locker rooms, so I yield to your professed superior knowledge. Most people don’t procreate with their mouths. I remember hearing some trashy boys in my locker room back when we were teenagers. I would hope some of them matured since then but you show some may not have. Trying to “procreate” with married women while you are on your third wife is deplorable and beneath the dignity of a decent adult. He can’t be trusted.

Most people are adults by 59. Justifying Donald Trump as a man by comparing to a teenager does not inspire confidence in people not already in love with him and his ways.

Lets see, Trump made comments about women, in a private conversation, over ten years ago. Clinton, while acting as President of these Unites States, DID lewd things in the White House. His wife, whom is running for the same office, supported him and trashed the women he had sex with. She trashed a 12 y/o girl who had been raped, defending the pervert who raped her. Yeah, I totally believe the Hillary Clinton supports women and women’s rights. And I also believe pigs fly. Nope, sorry, no Liberal nuts in the White House for me.

  11. david lamb on October 9th, 2016 4:00 pm

Hue,,, I will accept being called a deplorable misfit any day over being called a LIBERAI!
Lets get real 11 year old gutter talk has no place in this campaign
In my 68 years of life, I have never seen a more divisive/carnival soap opera.
The Liberals and some republicans want Trump gone…anyway any how,, whatever it takes. The Right wants Hilary gone, so it appears any amount of smear is fair play.
You have to have blinders on to not know that this trash talk is going on daily in locker rooms/dorms by males and females. I have heard it all in the military, It is all part of procreation. Been on a farm? Every male species checks out the females to see if they are ready! And they express their findings with facial expressions and physical displays. We, as humans are supposed to be more refined, but are we?
This ploy seems to be exaggerated by people who have done or thought the same thoughts but have not been caught. What hypocrites!
This deplorable will still vote TRUMP!

  12. anne on October 9th, 2016 3:26 pm

Darn, I can’t remember what I said about men in 2005, so I’d better not run for president. Trump isn’t airing dirty laundry about the Clinton’s because it is on a barge off the coast stacked 8 ft high.

  13. Sedition on October 9th, 2016 2:43 pm

With the decisions that he’s made, Scott wouldn’t know wrong if it came up and slapped the back of his bald head.
    Filthy RINO.

  14. mike on October 9th, 2016 11:07 am

The receivers of government benefits will win the election for Hilly, esp since some states will not require ID to vote. This is why all these liberal groups want a reg extension period, to get as many Hilly votes in as possible. These votes will make up at least 30% of the total vote, with the rest divided between her & Mr. Trump. Do the math people, she can’t lose!

No matter how much better a Prez Mr. Trump would be, which is a whole lot better. The transformation of America into a 3rd world country will continue on to it’s eventual destruction. :(

Truly ridiculous to keep throwing negativity at one’s opponents…..If a candidate does not have anything positive to say about one’s self or one’s intentions if elected, they go to throwing stuff at their opponent…. like Gorillas in a zoo. I have a friend in Australia and several in Canada that tell me the world is rolling with laughter at the U.S. presidential debates….

  16. jtr on October 9th, 2016 9:51 am

If we are going to police language…. lets pick some easy targets. How about the crude language many military men are supposed to use. How about using the “n” word…. and others. If we are going to do that where does it stop? Set out some rules. Then go after people… oh wait, we have already DONE AWAY WITH THE RULES. A long time ago. I know what my mothers rules were but they clearly are waay to tight for hollywood these days. And what about what the news plays in my living room every time a cop shoots someone and they play cellphone videos of people rioting… using every other curse word I would never use in public (sometimes not even in private!)…. oh damn! Is that racial? Wow. Would somebody PLEASE DRAW A LINE AGAIN!! My mother would do it again….. Let me know, WHERE IS THE NEW LINE?

  17. jeeperman on October 9th, 2016 9:49 am

All this big-to-do about some locker room banter just shows us that the political parties think the average voter is stupid.
So stupid that we can not chose a presidential candidate based on real issues and real problems here and around the world.
Don’t be bamboozled by the these high school distractions.

  18. David Huie Green on October 9th, 2016 9:26 am

Vote for Trump if you wish, but please stop wondering why anybody doesn’t like him.
The man was obnoxious at 59, is obnoxious at 70, has been obnoxious all his life.

He has committed to bombing anybody who irritates him. He would be using your children to go to war. I imagine he would keep your daughters to “protect” him in the Lincoln bedroom.

Were his opponent not Hillary, only the deplorables would love him — the ones who think and talk just like him.

    David for decency and liberty

  19. Jcellops on October 9th, 2016 9:25 am

No one (male or female) in their right mind would/should look favorable on Trump’s comments from 10+years ago. But, that does not persuade me in the least from taking my eye off of the proverbial ball- the end goal… and, that is the Supreme Court!! I don’t give a crap what some of the “establishment” Republican leaders have decided to do by publically withdrawing their support away from Trump. They have their next election that they’re trying to protect. They figure that they can endure 4 years of Clinton- while they continue to “politely correctly” aline themselves up for the 2020 election. That path would be devastating to the balance of the Supreme Court- for decades! 4 MORE years of Obama-like policies?? Hell NO.

  20. A Alex on October 9th, 2016 8:43 am

We want to harp on a 20 year old audio that was at around the same time Bill Clinton was doing the same as our president.
OOPS, he will get the same chances if Hillary is elected. Bills record is far worse than Trumps.

  21. Sue on October 9th, 2016 7:44 am

I watched and heard the statements Trump made regarding this article. I will say this, these are statements no Christian or otherwise respectful person would be bragging about. Saying these things as a newly married man at the time he can just go up to other married women and do what he wants because he is a Star! Talking about grabbing there private areas because he can. (everything) How does he expect the Women or Latina vote if this continues.

  22. Howard Ard on October 9th, 2016 7:41 am

They may dig up more smut; and I expect they will. But character assassination will not win the day. I am tired of what’s happening in DC and stand with Mr. Trump one hundred percent. He’s working FOR the people of this great country to bring us back to our roots, and restore the constitution to its rightful place as the guiding principle of ALL political decision making that goes on in our Nation’s capital. Get behind him folks if you value your individual rights and freedoms guaranteed by the constitution of the USA! Thank you.

WAIT — Some folks are all feathers up over some juvenile locker room banter?
Why is something like that taking up so much of the highly biased media attention?
I want to know what the plans are for ISIS, North Korea, China, Russia and their terrorists plots for OUR Nation — the USA — and how about JOBS coming back to the USA — and what about CRIME in our own neighborhoods — and DRUGS, DRUGS, DRUGS???????
Good Grief, have heard guys, and girls/women, talk about how HOT someone is for years and they never have any intention of “doing anything” it’s just BS talk.
Will the media not be happy until we are all choirboys…Oh Wait, they won’t like that because then it’d be Religious and we know how the media feels about Religion.
And ladies who’ve been to see the Chippendale Dancers, wonder how you commented to each other then?
    Good Grief…MOVE ON.

Since Scott took on developing and growing trumps financial bank of funds in Florida to finance trumps campaign, it is a surprise.
