Jay Woman Killed In Wreck
September 30, 2016
A Santa Rosa County woman was killed in a two vehicle crash Thursday afternoon near Chumuckla.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 15-year old Katlynn Brianna Hobbs of Jay was traveling eastbound on Highway 182 near Griswold Road in a 2007 Chevrolet Colorado. Hobbs slowed to make a left turn without signaling as 41-year old Robert Albert Kanning III of Jay attempted to pass in a passing zone on the left. Hobbs turned her vehicle into the path of Kanning’s 2007 Dodge Ram, causing the vehicles to collide and Hobb’s vehicle to overturn.
Katlynn Hobbs’ passenger, 40-year old Allison Maranda Hobbs of Jay was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Any charges in the crash are pending the outcome of a traffic homicide investigation by the FHP.

My deepest sympathy to all of the family.
There are no words to comfort someone who has lost a precious member of their family. Mandy was a one of a kind person! All who knew her loved her and she had heart of gold full of love for mankind and Jesus. I know she would say her greatest accomplishment is her beloved daughter.
There are absolutely no words to express for this horrible tragedy
This was a very tragic accident that will leave scars on the heart for a life time. I understand that an investigation is mandatory. I pray that God will intervene and move with compassion on the hearts of those involved to treat the victims’ family with due respect.
I am still on disbelief. Yet again, a MVA has taken another life in our community. I have lost to many friends because of MVAs. My prayers goes out Mandy’s Family. Praying still for Daughter.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. But my heart, my thoughts and my prayers strongly goes out to that precious daughter. May God be with her during this tragic time.
I went to school with Mandy. She was a lovely person, great mom, and loved the Lord. May you celebrate in heaven and sing in the heavenly choir!!! You will surely be missed but not forgotten!!!
