Frances Adele Flowers Huff

September 7, 2016

Frances Adele Flowers Huff was born December 12, 1927, in Gordo, Alabama, to James Hobson Flowers and Susie Bell MacAteer. Frances was a graduate of Sipco High School in Birmingham. She married Clyde Verneal Huff on November 30, 1946. She had three children, two of which preceded her in death, Joseph Hobson Huff (2012) and Brenda Joyce Huff (1998).

She is survived by youngest son, Larry Waldo Huff and two daughters-in-law, Susan Roberts Huff (Larry) and Charlotte Huff (Joe); brother-in-law Fred Huff of Thomasville, AL and a sister-in-law, Margaret Flowers of Blountsville, AL; her grandchildren, Tammy Hester (Gordon), Wendy Huff, Vivian Ruth Huff, Amanda Hindsman (Craig); one grandson, Christopher Lee Huff and numerous great-grandchildren.

Frances was a wonderful wife, mother, homemaker and cook. She worked as a church secretary for Plainview Baptist Church where she also taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School and sang in the choir for many years. Frances was also a bookkeeper for Spradley Big Ten Tires and Wards Building Supply. The Christian testimony of Mom was written by her life. Mom saw a lot of trials and tribulations but never wavered in her faith. She believed in prayer, practiced it a lot when she prayed for family and friends. She was married to the love of her life, Clyde for 67 years. Mom leaves a legacy of love by serving others whenever she found someone in need. On September 3, 2016, Mom went to sleep in her bed and awoke in heaven in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her gentle spirit and loving nature will be missed by all those who truly knew her. Mom’s favorite scripture was the 23 rd Psalm.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Pensacola Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home on Thursday, September 8, 2016, from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Plainview Baptist or First Baptist Church Cantonment.
