An outdoor amphitheater and adult entertainment is something that Century could engage in with relatively low overhead. I have often wondered why Century and Flomaton never constructed river walks such as Milton has?

What else do you have to offer? What do you have to loose?

@jeeperman on September 26th, 2016 2:57 pm, “Chambers of Commerce” are typically a local “club” of local business owners…”

Kim Godwin is on the board of directors at the Century Chamber of Commerce. She is an officer, the Recording Secretary. These are county funds not town funds and have nothing to do with Town of Century funds or finances. Kim Godwin is acting in her role as Secretary with the Chamber of Commerce.

“Step back non-believers, or the rain will never fall, somebody keep the fires a burning, somebody bang the drum”.
Lizzy and the Rainmaker, written by Kenny O’ Dell, Larry Henley, recorded by Tanya Tucker, 1975.

One thing Century can never be accused of is a lack of faith.

“Chambers of Commerce” are typically a local “club” of local business owners.

They are NOT suppose to be part of the local government.
    Nor funded by tax dollars.
A donation to the local CoC by a local government is very common because the local politicians that can authorize a donation, are also local business owners and members of this local club of business owners.
It is interesting that Century Deputy Clerk Kim Godwin at (850) 256-3208 is the contact person for a “club” job.

If in deed the CoC of Century is not a government entity.

There have been 2-3 people in this job for the last 2-3 years. What did they accomplish for our $40K per year?

Surprised by all the negative comments. I’m no business woman, but it seems like having someone coordinate and act as liason with the business’s in the area is a good idea. Shout me down if you must, but it seems to make sense.

They wonder why Century has no money. $300.00 an hour attorney hired and now this crap. They need to fire all the clowns that run this community. The residents of Century deserve better than this. Check out who they hire and who they are related to.

economic growth comes from the private sector. those who do not learn from mr. reagan are condemned to be dummies. all gov can do is make their area a more attractive place to do business with deregulation low taxes etc. this where the 40g should go not for a nonsense job for someones relative or buddy.:D
