In my experience with dealing with Steven Barry, he is a tremendous fellow to work with. He is trustworthy and has the county citizens’ best interest in mind. In comparison, Danny Smillie falls way short. Yes he has been in the working class of Escambia county for many years, but his only interest is for himself and the good ol’ boys. He is extremely political in the sense that he will deal dirty under the table. Dishonesty is not the best policy. I want someone who will hear our voice and do something; not carry out his own agenda through means of pressure, favors, and other crooked schemes.

I am impressed with the amount of experience danny smilie has and so many years he has worked in the county. I feel he knows the ends and outs better than anyone. When you work hands on for so long you know what it takes to get the job done. I’m excited to see a working class person to be in leadership. We need it.

So Barry has been so good for 5? How about the numerous projects that were ro be completed but still haven’t? Like the Hwy 99 widening and repave. That project has been on hold for years. In my honest opinion, we need a commissioner who has been where the employees who are responsible for these kind of projects and others that improve our community are and understands the issues that need to be resolved in order to create a smoother running and more efficient means of repair, maintenance, and development of our community in areas that affect everyone’s day to day life. Also, a commissioner who has no other business obligations or concerns or the political scratch my back I’ll scratch yours way of doing business.

Did Mr. Smillie say thanks for the information…..
As in he had no idea before reading the story ?

Well looks like he has enough money left for a good political fish fry.

I have known most of the players in the election for a long time and respect them all. I do have to say Steven barry has been good for us in 5. I’ve had some dealings with him and feel he’s trustworthy. I have also known Larry Walker for more years than we both would think about. He also has done a good job. This is an easy part of the election on who to vote for—Berry and Walker. Wish the other parts was as easy.

I have known Larry Walker for many years. When Cantonment was a volunteer fire department he was always available to help us with whatever water issues we had. He is a good man and I hope the people of District 5 keep him in as our ECUA representative. He will work hard for us, as he had in the past.

This is exactly what I always say. It is not about he best person for the job , it’s about who collects the most money ,,people our system is so broken it will never be able to be fixed .,I personally do not care how much you collect or spend. It has not one thing to do with doing a good job for the people

Although Commissioner Barry does have the “look” of a politician he has proven to be a worthy representative for District 5. He has earned the respect of the other politicians which has enabled the voice of our district to be heard. He has attempted to stay abreast of the concerns of the district as evidenced by his town hall meetings. He has also proven himself to be a person with backbone as he has voted in opposition to the majority of the commissioners if he felt that the vote did not serve district 5. Yes, I believe the district 5 voice has only begun to be heard and will be muted if he is not reelected.

Danny Smillie has a tremendous amount of knowledge on the operations of this county. Trust me , if he is elected District 5 will not be forgotten.

Thank you for the information. I did not have fundraising events. Everyone knows I do not ask for money. All I ask for is your support.

I Pray that the People in District 5 Realize that if “WE” lose Steven Barry , “OUR”
District will no longer be heard of.
