Escambia Deputies Searching For Bank Robbery Suspect
August 20, 2016
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a bank robber.
About noon Friday, a suspect walked into the Member’s First Credit Union on Fairfeld Drive and robbed the teller. He wore his hat low and wrapped a towel around his face to help hide his identity. He walked away with an undisclosed amount of money.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (850) 436-9620 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 433-STOP.

I’m pretty sure all banks have the signs.I am sure if he had stuck a gun in my face I wouldn’t have insisted he do that!!!!!!!!!!!! I ALWAYS thank whoever checks my card and ask for an ID. The person in possession of my card might not be me!!!!!!!!!!
If esco police detectives can make images clearer they wouldn’t need public’s help. An image can only be cleared up as much as the pixel quality will allow. What may look clear from a distance when you zoom it in it just becomes more pixelated. Buy better cameras.
The signs are usually there, but it’s at the teller’s discretion how far they want to push it. Sometimes, customers gripe about it. It’s kinda like when the teller asks them for their ID and they get annoyed. Folks would be a lot more annoyed if some schmo walked in and drained their savings account, because the teller didn’t ask for ID. When folks respect rules (and law…can I get an AMEN?!), there’s usually not a problem. It’s when people want special treatment and think they’re above the rules/law is when problems arise. It all boils down to pride.
Doubt if he is working anyplace…..unless he decided on Friday to rob a bank during his lunch break….I suspect we have a photo of how he earns his income.
Have banked with MFCU for over 45 years and it is GREAT.
This event greatly disturbs me for the safety of my friends who work in all of the branches.
Thank God none of them were injured by this individual.
This was the SECOND Bank Robbery of the day in Escambia County.
First was at the Compass Bank on Davis Hwy where the night deposit box was broken into during the late night or early morning hours.
DRUGS on Our Streets are fueling these and other crimes and putting us law abiding citizens at risk.
Please, Dear Lord, protect us against the criminal element in Escambia County.

there is a way to get more info off the shirt, but The ability to “enhance” photos – like what you see on CSI or NCIS … is Hollywood hocus pocus. You can’t add pixels to a photo – if the camera is focused at once distance, the resolution doesn’t matter – anything out of focus stays out of focus.
the best you can hope for is to zoom way in on each area of the lettering and see if the contrast between adjacent pixels is enough to clearly define a letter.
latest versions of photoshop or other photo editors do contain some commands which can help – by sort of predicting which pixels might look good when added, but it still leaves the final result up to interpretation by the viewer:
*click* (computer works)
*ding* (command finished)
SGT: “Hey, does this look like an A or maybe an N?”
LT: “not sure yet, let’s check the next letter.”
and that’s even if they decide to try to refine the photo…
Signs, Rules, Laws they are only for the lawful.
You see, a sign that says remove your hat and sunglasses before you enter may indicate to a thief, that there is probably not a security guard inside.
signs, signs
I have banked at the same location for 20 years; they know me. But the sign says to remove my sunglasses, so I do. But then, I’m not a druggie and I work for a living!
Perhaps, for the protection of our bankers, signs should read “If you do not remove hats, caps, and sunglasses, law enforcement will automatically be called, or, worse case, you will be shot on the spot.”
He appears to be wearing work attire. Perhaps the patch on his chest is significant, or perhaps it was purchased from a second-hand store. If ECSO would offer more details, ie patch lettering, they may receive more tips. In this day and technological age, surely ECSO can decipher the blurred patch from the photos.
Seems I’ve seen a sign at my credit union that says please remove hats and sunglasses. Should in act that in every bank and credit union. Hats off or no service..
