Ballots On The Way To Military And Overseas Voters

July 16, 2016

The Escambia County Supervisor of Elections Office began sending vote-by-mail ballots on Friday, July 15, to eligible military and overseas citizens. Voters will either receive their ballot by mail or electronically, depending on their chosen method of delivery.  Absent military voters and those living overseas can request, mark and track their vote-by-mail ballots electronically.

Vote-by-mail ballots for all eligible domestic voters will be mailed beginning on Monday, July 25. The deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot to be mailed for the Primary Election is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24. To request or track your vote-by-mail ballot for the Primary Election, visit EscambiaVotes.com and click “Vote by Mail”, or contact the Supervisor of Elections Office at (850) 595-3900.

Across the state, county supervisors of elections have already sent out more than 1.5 million ballots to overseas and military voters.

Of the ballots already out statewide, Republicans accounted for 626,019 and Democrats accounted for 610,328. Another 250,261 ballots went to people with no party affiliation and 36,457 were sent to people registered with one of the state’s minor parties.

    I am not on the staff Anne but what you heard is not true. Who ever told you that was uninformed. Glad you are questioning that though.

    Northescambia, I appreciate you so much for the local news but the interactive comments are also priceless in getting differing points of view and information.Your articles are often a starting point for further research to get more facts.
    @Anne
    Although I seldom see public servants answering question and interacting here, I think it may be to remain professional and ethical, If you want to ask directly NE provided a link. I sometimes take what I learn here as a starting point.

    I will mail in vote only. It is my vote and it counts. I think it is secure valid, can only be counted once, I am not rushed and research the candidates ahead of time. I will not stand at the polls nor mark one I am not sure of. This is serious and a meet and greet and rush job at the poll’s will no longer be my way of voting.
    Just the thought of someone showing up to get a sticker and be seen and not putting thought into it is worse than not voting at all. Its private and sacred to me.

    Mr. Stafford and SOE Staff,
    Thank you for your diligent efforts in making sure that all eligible voters have an opportunity to cast their votes.

    For Escambia County, ow many 2016 Primary Ballots were mailed to our Military and Overseas voters?

    Are ALL of the Vote-By-Mail ballots included in the final tallying of votes cast?
    At one time I had heard that the Absentee or Mail-In Votes were used only when there was a Close Race and they’d then be counted to determine the winner. Is there any truth to that?

    Thanks to the Supervisor of Elections Staff for a Great Job.
    Thanks to our Nation’s Founders for our Right to Vote for the best candidate.
    God Bless the USA
