Record Crowds Wowed By The Blue Angels (With Photo Gallery)

July 17, 2016

Perhaps the largest crowd ever packed onto Pensacola Beach Saturday for the annual Pensacola Beach Air Show featuring the Blue Angels. Official attendance numbers were not available by Sunday morning, but officials said people were arriving on the beach by the hundreds, and by the thousands, by daylight Saturday. The main parking lot at Casino Beach was full by a  record 5:30 a.m., according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

Perhaps there are so few comments here… because so many of us were actually at the airshow watching instead of posting here. I do hope that was not too snarky… I would ask it be overlooked if so.

I went on Friday… let’s not miss the central fact here:

A record turnout for the Blue Angels, during one of their most difficult years, as they continued with their mission of excellence, while minus one of their very own.

A few comments more or less on this page reporting the wonders is not connected to the direction of the country – there were 50,000 of my closest patriotic friends on Friday when I went.

We’ll let that speak more highly, all by itself.

  2. So SAD!!! on July 18th, 2016 7:27 am

It is so SAD that you have so few comments on a historic yearly event that takes place in our area of the gulf coast after a fallen Blue Angel pilot. To see the Blues’ fly a flawless demonstration that takes months of preparation, dedication, precision, and to only see 5 in the air instead of 6 In formation was very historic and SAD. Hopefully that will be the last time we have to see that, but let there be killing or an arrest of a drug dealer or a bad crime and there posts will be flooded with response, and people wonder why this country is headed in the wrong direction. “Go Figure” Good job Blues y’all were awesome!!!! RIP #6 you were missed!!!

The Blue Angels are truly a national treasure home based here in Escambia County!
