Driver was trying to be courteous and asked them if they wanted a booth or table.
Uber is not responsible for this. Read their terms of use when you downloaded their app. Uber isn’t responsible for anything that happens with the drivers or anything else for that matter. Not responsible for accidents, not responsible if the driver assaults you, not responsible if the driver rapes you. You’re agreeing that ALL risk by using their platform is on you and that if the driver does anything wrong Uber is not responsible. They get away with it due to calling the drivers, independent contractors. The driver is on the hook for everything. Uber stands behind their partner/drivers!! Until something happens, of course. Then, you’re on your own!!!
“Hey dude….. Your rides here..”
I also have to carry a Ton of Insurance with the State of Florida as well with the State of Alabama to Run a Sedan Service.
This driver is about to find out things the hard way. Uber doesn’t cover drivers. They only provide limited liability when a passenger enters the vehicle and very limited insurance if they are in route to pick up a passenger. App must be on and requested. His insurance will say he was conducting in a commercial sense and will not cover him. Uber is very bad to our insurance premiums as most divers are aware of this and make false claims while working. Driving for Uber has become the lowest and most undesirable job prospect. Uber still refuses to offer drivers tips. Simply a terrible company and nobody should use them.
I agree people don’t pay attention to what they are doing. Do many people in cell phones, putting make up on and doing other things.
Does anyone know what insurance companies are doing about Uber drivers? I know I carried a ton of personal injury insurance when I was putting customers in my car..
Things are getting WAY out of hand. Even back when drunk driving was a problem, there were not this many accidents. People: pay attention to your driving. It’s a matter of life and death.
I hear it was one of those Ubers.
