No Driver Found In Early Morning Nokomis Crash
June 5, 2016
Firefighters discovered a pickup truck with major damage early Sunday morning in Nokomis, but the driver and any passengers were not around the vehicle.
The wreck was reported on Nokomis Road, just west of Jakes Road, in extreme northwestern Escambia County just after 3 a.m. The vehicle had apparently struck a bridge guardrail where a tire was sheered off, hit a guardrail, had a door ripped off that landed under the bridge and rolled several times.
Firefighters searched the area for anyone that may have been ejected from the crash, but they were unable to locate a driver.
The accident is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. The Walnut Hill Station of Escambia Fire Rescue and Atmore Ambulance also responded to the crash.

>>> However, if there are no other vehicles involved, no injuries to another person or their property, it is not required to be reported.
There’s damage to public property…the bridge guardrail.
DUI, maybe. However, if there are no other vehicles involved, no injuries to another person or their property, it is not required to be reported.
“Beef” – it’s what’s for dinner!
@ Bewildered…….DUI ? To paraphrase a local attorney….”prove it !”
They mighty blessed to have lived.
It amazes me how people just walk away from an accident without saying a word… like they think nobody will ever find the vehicle.
Fleeing the scene creates suspicion of unlawful activities not wanting to be discovered…
WOW!! Must have been flying pretty fast to do that kind of damage. Just praying anyone involved is o.k..
Some lucky individuals! Two accidents in one day with no driver at the scene of the wreck – they obviously walked away with minor scratches. Must be a sure fire way to avoid DUI charges.
Said the Bridge to the truck……
Uh Huh, I got your tire, now what you gonna do !!!
Darn,, won’t be able to drive it to church this morning.
