Greatest Show On Earth: Circus Train Passes Through Escambia County

June 27, 2016

The “Blue Unit” of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus trains passed through Escambia County Sunday morning, moving from South Florida to California. The circus has two trains, the red and the blue, that criss-cross the county. Photos by Larry Seale for NorthEscambia.com, click to enlarge.

The days the Ringling’ trains roll between towns (usually most Mondays) is often noted the previous Friday ONLINE at the website TRAINORDERS DOT COM …. and the headings used will start with “RBBB Blue…” or “RBBB Red….” followed by the day the Blue Unit or Red Unit roll and to/from which cities. Later this year, you may see one of the two trains return to Florida, likely the Red Unit. Watch that website noted above each FRIDAY to see where the 2 Ringling’ trains are heading next!

We have had so many problems with trains this year that it would have been exciting to see this train roll through with no problems. Ringling Brothers now have an elephant sanctuary, no one realized what a magnificent animal elephants are and they made a great decision to retire all elephants. I know PETA will slowly put an end to the circus world. We better go soon or it will just be another memory of the good old days. Loved the photos!

I agree with Wally. Wish we had known before it passed. Live beside the RR tracks and could’ve invited the grandkids…at the age of 5 they look forward to the train passing, this would’ve been an extra treat.

Wish I had known this before the event instead of after, I would have made family event of it. Watching the train go by.

A circus without elephants is not a circus. It is just another show.
