Highway 97 Traffic Delays Tuesday In Walnut Hill

Drivers can expect intermittent daytime lane closures on Highway 97 near Wiggins Lake Road in Walnut Hill on Tuesday as crews lay a final layer of asphalt in a bridge replacement project, according to the Florida Department of Transportation. NorthEscambia.com photo, click to enlarge.

Hopefully this final layer will smooth out the bumps onto and off the bridge.
The finish layer was left off, so as to prevent damage from the equipment and dump trucks while the temporary bridge and all of the fill dirt used to build the detour lane was removed.
Why did they not finish the job before they tore down the detour bridge? Just asking.
