Elderly Man Injured During Armed Home Invasion
May 8, 2016
An elderly man is recovering after being injured during an armed home invasion Saturday night off Kingsfield Road.
Three black males forced their way into a home in the area of Pelican Point Drive and Condor Drive just before 10 p.m. and pistol-whipped the elderly male resident, according to a spokesperson for the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. The male was transported to an area hospital for injuries that were not considered life threatening.
The three black males stole the man’s Cadillac and fled the area.
“A party inside the residence possibly knew the suspects,” Sgt. Andrew Hobbs, spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office , said. “We do not believe that this was a random act.”
Neighbors said they heard possible gunshots as the incident unfolded, but there was no confirmation from the Sheriff’s Office that a gun was fired.
Further details were not available Saturday night as the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office continued their investigation. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (850) 436-9620 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 433-STOP.

ALWAYS REMEMBER IT’S BETTER TO BE JUDGED BY 12 , THAN TO BE CARRIED BY 6,
Oh and btw my parents did not know the ppl my dad has been going there to take care of his disabled mother cause she can barely walk herself they jad just showed up and my day was helping my grandmother. My mother is disable and dragged on tje floor to tje kitchen. Dad a.d mom are good to ppl. All of this tragedy really put a lot of pressure amd stress and paranoia on my family. I had no way to call my parents my dad would not open the door unless he new it was me Thats how traumatized he is by this situation we need prayers anf positive vibes there way.
This happen to my daddy its been very hard i picked my mother a father up from that hospital. I cant think of anynody in the world that would hurt them. Im so happy they are alive. Im am spending the day with them on my day of we are all very traumatized by this situation keep your family close because tomorrow is never promised. I never in my life though this could ever happen to my family. To me family is all i have. I cried all day long yesterday upset seeing my father at the hospital with my mother. He had big base ball side bulges and 16 stitches got has a plan for him because with out my parents id have nothing. They gave me a good life and home and are the move loving kind ppl you will ever meet.
@Kevin
We don’t need more deputies, but we could use is some executioners and laws to back them up.
Heartwarming story of a granny & her gun:

BTW, sorry I mispelled “gauge”, twice!
Keep in mind residents of Cantonment and Molino. Morgan has shut down the Molino Precinct. I understand that one of the Lieutenants out of the Ensley Precinct ( which is where they muster now) only sends one deputy up to our area to work the midnight shift. This is one deputy that covers from Pine Barren Creek down to West Roberts Rd to Alabama to the Santa Rosa County line.
Agreed Mike wish a couple of them would meet that fate, if only to discourage the others
And do not give shelter to those that owe money to their drug dealers or drug trade accomplices.
Couldn’t have said it any better, Mike! Love how you worded it………. Shoot ‘em dead like rabid animals! Always be prepared!
Justice would be served in the aforementioned bullets or buckshot…
When you catch them could you please Pistol Whip them!
@ Mike….Absolutely
When we can no longer feel safe in our own homes there is something terribly wrong with society and with our judicial system.
Killers, robbers, drug dealers have no fear of the courts, example is Obama letting many drug dealers out of prison early.
The question is, How Safe do You Feel?
We used to have regular patrols by ECSO deputies and that has stopped over the past couple of years.
Santa Rosa Sheriff Candidates say their main goal is to ‘keep Escambia crime across the river…’ that speaks volumes to me and my friends.
Mike is right, we must be prepared to defend and protect our own lives.
God Bless those who Serve and Protect on our streets.
I have to agree with Mike, lock and load people!
@mike–man your 100% correct. I laughed my blank off. I know it’s funny but it’s not funny, wild animals, that’s right.
We arrived home last night to find a white bronco sitting on the street in front of our house. It appeared they were casing our home. We pulled into the drive behind them and they turned around and sped off. It had damage on the left front fender. Everyone watch out for this vehicle. It doesn’t help that we have a drug dealer next door either. I have a 12 gauge pump loaded and ready, along with my guard dogs. Bring it on.
Well put Mike. Anyone who would do this, especially to a poor old man, is just plain scum. I hope they’re caught and rot in prison.
This could have been anyone of us. It could have been our dad.
Incidents like this make everybody nervous, & makes the trigger fingers of owners of devices that hurl 12 guage buckshot itchy. The subhumans that pull this kinda crime need to keep that in mind.
Shoot them dead like rabid animals, anyone that would breach the security of another person’s home deserves no less. Get yourself a nice 12 guage pump, just to have some extra shots.
Residents that live out this way need to remember that this stuff is becoming more commonplace in this area, & is headed more northward every day. Desperately lazy types that are downright frightened at the prospect of work will stoop as low as needed to avoid labor, including murder.
Also invest in dogs, security cameras, alarm systems, motion sensing outdoor lighting, etc. 2-legged wild animals are on the loose, & no one is gonna protect you but yourself.
