Gov. Scott Asks Obama For Federal Disaster Declaration

March 1, 2016

Gov Rick Scott has requested that President Obama issue an emergency declaration, after touring damage in the Panhandle last week caused by severe storms. The declaration would provide federal aid to help Escambia and Santa Rosa counties recover.

The request could provide up to $5 million in emergency assistance.

Another “Slick Rick” move! Why is he asking for aid for Santa Rosa County? He just kinda slid that in undetected. He knows full well the damage in Santa Rosa County was very minimal and don’t warrant federal aid! Escambia County residents is in need of the aid! Especially the folk in Century who suffered such great loss ! Yet, “Slick Rick” apparently didn’t feel like the residents in Century was important enough to take time out of his “busy” schedule to travel an extra 42 miles up the road after a visit to NAS Pensacola!

Another Scott political charade. The events do not qualify for federal aid, but Scott asks for it so he can claim Obama turned his back on NW Florida to make political hay for his Senate run or as possible VP candidate for Trump.

Oh–and don’t forget Scott turned down federal aid for insuring poor Floridians’ healthcare and high-speed rail because he couldn’t figure out a way to fleece the taxpayers of America yet again.

Obama and Scott have been going head to head with the Syrian refugees coming into Florida. Lot of politics in play here. Scott refused Florida to take them in. Obama denies Scotts requests for aid. In a way, I hope the people in this area will get out and apply for aid and do what is necessary and not have a deal cut where this area is dictated as to what is done and how it is done and who comes in. Be careful what you wish for.

So between the state and local gov we are unable to take care of our citizens? What a shame where is the outrage of asking the federal gov to ask the Chinese to loan us some money! He wants to give big business 750 million tax breaks but can’t pay for recovery of a couple of isolated storms! Something is wrong with this picture! Republicans don’t like big government and northwest Florida is as red as they come! Can we say RINO!

That doesn’t mean it will be approved Obama turns down Scotts requests 50% of the time, then its appealed. May need to start writing Obama soon before he pens a rejection letter. I hope it get approved
