March 4, 2016

Don Wyatt Gay passed away in his home Wednesday, February 24, 2016, from complications of a lung disease. He was 73 and was born on April 10, 1942, to gunsmith, game warden and police officer Dudley Gay and his wife Nell.

He rose through the ranks of the National Guard and at one time was company commander of the Pensacola branch of the National Guard. Don was a history buff spending plenty of time reading and watching anything about the Civil War, WWII and devoured practically any annals of antiquity. In his free time, he also enjoyed time with his kids, grandkids, and found his own child like passion for cycling late in life.

Don is survived by Beverly Gay and their three kids, Bob Gay and wife Traci, Greg Gay and wife Sheila, and Terri Sutek and her husband Eric, as well as several grand and great-grand kids.

A small private funeral will be held at Barrancas cemetery at NAS for family only.

In lieu of flowers please donate to the humane society in Don’s memory as a celebration of his love for all God’s creatures.
