Cantonment Woman Charged With Assaulting Girlfriend, Two Deputies; Threatening To Kill Deputy

January 30, 2016

A Cantonment woman is facing a long list of charges after allegedly choking her girlfriend, destroying her cell phones, escaping from deputies, assaulting two deputies, threatening to kill a deputy and even tossing in a bomb threat involving ISIS.

It all started about 4:00  Thursday afternoon in the 1500 block of Pauline Streeet were Celeste Nicle Roberson, 24, allegedly got into an altercation with her live-in girlfriend. While driving home from a funeral, the girlfriend said Roberson attacked her and kept turning off the vehicle and pulling the emergency brake. She allegedly threw the girlfriend’s cellphones and other personal items out of the car window.

They then traveled to the Cantonment Post Office on South Highway 29 where Roberson attacked her girlfriend, placed her in a choke hold. pulled her hair and beat on her in the parking lot. They then traveled north on Highway 29 until the girlfriend stopped the vehicle and tried to leave Roberson by the road. Instead, Roberson jumped on the hood and held on to the windshield wipers until they arrived at a gas station at Highway 29 and Beck’s Lake Road in Cantonment. Roberson then took the vehicle keys and began walking north of Highway 29.

Responding Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies took Roberson into custody. Deputies reported that she became violent inside back of the cruiser, kicking and screaming, and somehow managed to get her hands from her behind her back to the front of her body. After deputies removed her and attempted to re-adjust the handcuffs, Roberson escaped and ran northbound. She was subdued by deputies about 30 yards away in a turn lane of Highway 29. Four deputies struggled to get her handcuffed again, according to an arrest report.

She then threatened a deputy that was placing her in the back of a patrol vehicle, saying, “You’re dead…” Deputies were forced to push her inside the vehicle in order to close the door. She continued to yell obscenities and make threats, according to an arrest report, saying “I hope you got kids too because they dead too”.

Roberson continued to violently bang her head inside the vehicle cage. Deputies were forced to remove her from the vehicle and her place her in leg irons.  In the process, she began to kick a deputy repeatedly in the chest and spit into his eye.

While being transported to the jail, Roberson continued to make threats against a deputy, threatening to harm him and his family. She said stray bullets would find his family “and having a box placed in my front yard that will blow up in my Face. Roberson state she knew all about ISIS,” the deputy wrote in his report.

Roberson was charged with battery, two counts of criminal mischief, petit theft, resisting arrest without violence, escape, two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer and corruption by threat against a public servant

Prayers for Celeste, her family and the girlfriend. These hateful, judgemental comments make me want to weep. The Celeste I know does not deserve to be bashed like this. It just goes to show how people will put their mouth on something that they know nothing about. I pray that there is never a day where any of you or your loved ones have to endure such a perilous time.

Domestic Violence is not a charge, it is an enhancement to some criminal charges.

Why wasn’t this woman charged with domestic violence?

You are what you do. Consider what she does. Understand what she is. Can she become something else? Sure, by changing what she does. Otherwise, no.

“Molinoman”, please show us any scientific proof that any animal in the history of our planet ever “evolved” into another type of animal (fish into bird, lizard into mammal). There’s no scientific proof that macroevolution or the big bang is 100% without a doubt that such things are true but the government forces us to study them and banishes “nonsense” such as intelligent design.

This person is evil, whether demonic, chemical imbalance, personality flaw or just refusing to live by society’s rules she needs to be distanced from the public.

Any of those commentors defending this person want to offer your guest room for the “poor misunderstood dear”?

@dman, when I was 8 it took 3 doctors on each of my arms to unlock them and get an I.V. started. Was I demon possessed? No. There are situations where people can and have displayed superhuman strength. To call it demon possession is a fairy tale. It goes all the way back to primitive times when we as humans invented gods to explain earthquakes, lightening and all the bad things in the world that happen to us. There are NO scientific evidences to prove 100% without a doubt there’s any such thing as demons, ghosts, Bigfoot, Chupacabra, Loch Ness, etc. etc. Only the gullible buy into such things. If people would think more rationally and get their heads out of 2000 year old myths and fantasy the world would be a better place.

The only real demons in this world are humans who cause harm to others; nothing supernatural, just bad people, period. There’s medication for most all of it btw.

“I don’t what disturbs me more, this thug of woman or a trained medical professional who believes in demon possession.”

Go visit the jungles of South America, Africa, and parts of the former Soviet Union. You’ll run into the occasional person who has the power of half a dozen (strong) men, and weigh 90 lbs themselves…and foam at the mouth, hate everything, cut themselves, etc. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. I’ve also seen them delivered and now living productive lives.

Anyway, this person appears to be on that path…just because might have a mental illness doesn’t mean she shouldn’t be in prison. What she told the officer is dispicable. I’d like to see her charged with a threat of terrorism, in addition to all the rest.

I understand she has done some very wrong things and she will pay for this but can we please think of her family members who have tried to help her get help. She really used to not be this way and it really hurts them that she has become someone they don’t know and don’t approve of. In no way was it right what she’s done and they are extremely sorry for her. I know everyone will think I’m crazy but she’s someones daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Can we pray for her and the family instead of just bashing her. I honestly don’t care what any of you think of me for writing this. She is now off the streets and apparently where she needs to be. I’m sorry for all involved. And she has no ties with Isis that the family know of. She’s just gone crazy.

This story has been blown out of proportion

Demon possession DOES exist. My son used to say “Mama, you think there’s a demon behind every rock.” Insert teenage snickering. He’s 44 now and recently told me, “Mom I guess you were right. There are instances on demonic oppression and possession!” I’ve personally seen it on the mission field and in our county! Be certain before you judge.

Kt, are you kidding me. There is no assumption being made. She bullied and beat her girlfriend, threatens law enforcement and thinks she is a master thug. She is BAD and needs to be taken off the streets and taught that you cannot bully people around and get by with it. Kudos to our LEO’s for taking her down and doing a great job of catching her again! One less bully on the streets!

This is a sad story, Celeste is not a bad person, she has a history of mental illness. That doesn’t excuse her actions at all but I hate reading the comments saying she is a “moron” or “ruffian” etc. is kind of unfair since it’s something that is out of her control

  13. molinoman on January 30th, 2016 10:11 am

I don’t what disturbs me more, this thug of woman or a trained medical professional who believes in demon possession.

  14. connie on January 30th, 2016 9:41 am

Threatening deputies and their families. Also talking about ISIS. She needs to be put away for along time. Everybody wants to use mental problems as an excuse, this is just the pure devil.

First of all, yuk! Second, “don’t jump to narrow minded assumptions that this is a bad person”? Stupid liberal left jargon. Lock her violent psychotic butt up! You don’t make death threats against anyone let alone deputies and their families.

  16. Patsy on January 30th, 2016 8:56 am

    Moron

  17. Jcellops on January 30th, 2016 8:54 am

I’m glad that this story includes the nitty-gritty and blow by blow accounts of this out of control ruffian …I think that sometimes the public needs to be reminded of the variety of crap that our officers have to be prepared for on a daily basis……I wonder if something like that protective head gear that boxers wear could be utilized in these cases- for vehicle and knuckle-head protection ….could help deter a frivolous lawsuit…..im surprised that she wasn’t also charged with domestic violence….

This reminds me of a patient I had when on Psychiatric Nursing affiliation many years ago. She could not have weighed more than 85 pounds soaking wet, yet it took 5 men to put her in a straight jacket inside her padded cell. That is when I began to believe that not all mental illness was really that. It is when I began to believe that demon possession did really exist, and in this country too, not just in Bible times, and not just in other countries. Since that I have been convinced and have seen at least 2, maybe three other cases. This truly sounds like one more. Though, this woman is much larger than the one I saw all those years ago, and it took only 4 men to subdue her.

  19. Queenbee on January 30th, 2016 7:49 am

We were stopped at the red light when this woman ran by our truck. Kudos to the female officer who was hot on her heels and was the first to take her down.

  20. Puddin on January 30th, 2016 7:49 am

Wow, what a wonderful upstanding citizen. Yikes.

  21. Kt on January 30th, 2016 7:41 am

Please don’t jump to narrow minded assumptions that this is a bad person. This woman probably had a psychotic break or something of the sort, and should be hospitalized. The article mentioned she was coming back from a funeral when it all started. Stress can make the mind snap like that.

  22. tg on January 30th, 2016 7:05 am

This is one bad woman that looks more like a man.

“Resisting arrest without violence”? Wonder what she would have to do to be considered violent?
