Can You Hear Me Now? Donald Trump Brings Campaign To Pensacola

January 14, 2016

Thousands of people packed the Pensacola Bay Center Wednesday night to hear Donald Trump, Republican candidate for president.

Trump took at two Florida residents during the event — “So you have the Governor who’s got very low energy, named Bush. You have Rubio who is a sitting senator and you have Trump. Now I have a lot of property…lot of stuff, all over Florida,” the billionaire said.

His lengthy 70 minute speech –without teleprompters — kept the crowd on their feet as he moved, sometimes suddenly, from one topic to another.

“And by the way I don’t like this mic, whoever the hell brought this mic system don’t pay the son of a b****,” Trump informed his staff  as he was discussing trade policy with China. “This mic is terrible, stupid mic keeps popping…Don’t pay him. You know I believe in paying but when somebody does a bad job like this you shouldn’t pay the b******,” Trump said.

Trump received the endorsement of several prominent community leaders in Florida prior to his rally in Pensacola.

Businessman George Scarborough, Pastor Carl Gallups, 2nd Amendment activist Clover Lawson, and Veterans Terry Busbee Sr., Gary O’Neal and Capt. Allen Brady each spoke prior to Trump’s speech, in addition to Kathryn ‘Kat’ Gates-Skipper the first female Marine in Combat Operations, who endorsed Trump’s candidacy in November at his Sarasota rally.

“It is my great honor to receive endorsements from each of these incredible people. Their support for my message and endorsement of my candidacy for President of the United States means so much to me, and with their help, and the help of so many great people in Florida and all over the country, we will make America great again,” Trump said.

    REGARDING:
“I agree with Mr Trump, the end justifies the means!”

Much depends on both the end and the means.
For example, if the end were the salvation of all life on the planet, some pretty extreme means would be justified. (They would not be justified if the earth were not in danger or if the means didn’t have any effect on saving it.)
Conversely, if the end were cutting noise around you, using the means of killing all your neighbors would not be justified. (Especially since prison would be even noisier afterward.)

If the end is to stop illegal immigration, would you feel justified to use the means of killing every man, woman, child and duck which entered America?

If the end is to get rid of illegal immigrants, would you feel justified in killing all suspects? As was said, “If you hang all suspects, you are sure to get the guilty.”

What if the next president has ends which call for your elimination? or even worse: MINE! Remember his ends and your ends may not agree all the time. Would you want him empowered to completely ignore your representative and the laws congress has hammered out over the years?

Further, what if his means don’t cure the end? It is believed many of FDR’s programs extended the Great Depression rather than shortening it. What if Trump’s means destroyed the economy (say nothing to leading to all out biological warfare)? You may thing he is smart, but what if he really isn’t?

You might notice he isn’t long on solid proposals and when he speaks, his words ignore reality way too often. We should never follow a leader simply because he leads so well if he is leading us off a cliff.

    David for reason

Thank you, David, for using correct spelling, punctuation, proper grammar, and complete sentences in your responses. The replies from Trump supporters are sadly lacking in those areas, and that fact leads to the inference that the writers are probably lacking in the area of logical thinking.

I don’t support Trump because he’s bigoted, highly offensive, and reminds me of a schoolyard bully: no class and sadly deficient in morals.

Build a wall? Yeah, that’s a BRILLIANT idea! History has shown us just what a great thought that is.

I’m not a Hillary fan, but I want to know what she did that made her a failure as a wife and mother, neither of which would really indicate her success as a president. I think she’d be horrible, yes, but she’d probably be no worse than Trump.

Still haven’t decided which of the OTHER candidates will receive my vote.

I love Donald Trump…and appreciate the fact that he is paying for his campaign and won’t be bought. Every other candidate is taking money from special interest.
Trump is honest, outspoken, politically incorrect just the opposite of all these polished politicians. We still don’t have a wall around our borders and Trump is just the man to get the job done. Many companies are leaving this country and so are the jobs. Trump is the leader that can solve the problem and bring jobs back. The amount of money we are giving other countries considering our debt doesn’t make sense, it’s insane.
I’m conservative but disgusted with the republican party they have no guts….. what they are good at is making promises and speeches. Since Trump came on the scene they are all stepping up their game. He speaks from the heart and really care about this country.

  5. john on January 15th, 2016 6:28 am

To you (Low Information Voters) out there, why don’t you investigate the candidates, dig in to their accomplishments and failures, do some research, don’t just let someone tickle your ears!!

  6. 429SCJ on January 15th, 2016 6:25 am

@DH Green, it is good to know that Marxism is alive and well in Bluff Springs.

I agree with Mr Trump, the end justifies the means!

  7. john on January 15th, 2016 6:21 am

    @Sue Ellen

Hillery may actually be less of a factor now that she has a two front FBI investigation against her and that is part of the Executive Branch.

And regarding her accomplishments, let’s see, she failed as a wife, a mother, secretary of state, and she will fail as president!!

  8. Jo Puma on January 15th, 2016 3:45 am

I love Donald Trump…. He deserves a lot more credit then people give him!
    1. The fact that he is not taking money to run his campaign from special interest groups or anyone. He won’t be bought and persuaded by others ..just the American people. However, EVERY OTHER CANDIDATE IS TAKING MONEY to run their campaign and spending millions.
    2. He will build a wall around our borders and have people come in legally, he was the only one that had the guts to bring this important issue to the forefront. But none of those politicians that are now running for president were able to do anything about the immigration issue over the years and the wall never got built. Politicians are all talk and no action.
    3. Trump is not politically correct he speaks the truth like it or not. I like it! it’s so refreshing. As Americans we better decide how we want our county run he is not putting fear in people as some would state. People can see for themselves how this country is being run down and what a bad job the politicians have done. I am conservative but the republicans have no courage and I am disgusted with the way things have been run over the years.
    4. He has a good tax plan and if you make under $50,000 you will pay no tax.
    5. Americans are the most giving people but Trump is right about China, Japan, Mexico and other countries taking advantage of us. Companies are leaving America and taking the jobs this affects ALL americans. Companies are hiring foreigners and firing Americans. He knows how to create jobs and bring them back to America.
    6. Donald Trump is waking people up something this country needs, he is a leader that’s why the other candidates are becoming more bold and outspoken since he came on the seen. He has done a lot of good for a lot of people things you don’t hear about. He even rebuilt the ice skating ring in NY when the city didn’t have the money and so much more…..
He doesn’t use telepromters, or have speeches written and practice what he is going to say as the other candidates do…… he speaks from the heart and I hear what he is saying!
Although he is under budget for running his campaign it;s a great expense for using his plane, gas and so much more being constantly on the road it’s a wonderful thing that he has done. How generous…
Thank you Mr. Trump for standing up for our country without being politically correct, and for having the courage to tell the truth … I STAND WITH YOU LET’S MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!

People are sick and tired of establishment candidates and having to hold their nose and vote for them. People are sick and tired of arrogant politicians telling us what to think and who put our nations best interests on the back burner in order to cherry pick votes and not “offend” anyone. The problem isn’t Trump, the problem is that we don’t have more Trumps to trump the spineless thugs out of our nations capital and our statehouses

  10. David Huie Green on January 14th, 2016 7:46 pm

    REGARDING:
“I have no idea why yall do not like trump.”

    He’s obnoxious.
He lies or can’t tell the difference between reality and fantasy.
He has assured us he can get Mexico to build and pay for a wall between them and us.
This implies HE is a fool or he thinks I am for believing such hogwash.
He curses microphones. This is vulgar and childish.
    He throws fits and tantrums.
He strikes me as a stupid loudmouth. (I could be wrong but what if he strikes others the same way? Some of whom have nuclear weapons and are sensitive to insults!)
He has promised to do a number of things which are a violation of law, justice, Christianity, human decency and reason.
I suspect he is running to assure a real Republican is NOT elected by being such a petty piece of pomposity that we might be tempted to vote instead for a lady who doesn’t understand why it matters how we failed to keep her people from being slaughtered by terrorists and has promised to ignore the parts of the Constitution she dislikes or a man who thinks America just needs to be socialist.

That’s just off the top of my head.
If I paid attention, I might think of more.

    David for better people
(which wouldn’t be hard in this case)

I would vote for Trump; not because I like him, but because I know he has the ability and moxie to improve our country’s financial and security situation. Do I agree with everything he says? Of course not. No one agrees with everything anyone says. Whether you like him or not, doesn’t matter. Will he improve something in our nation? That’s the question for every candidate.

  13. Retired on January 14th, 2016 2:18 pm

He is not mealy mouthed. Some politicians can give a speech and never say anything that t can be interpreted clearly. Thus the term spoken like a true politician. We need a leader not a liar or bamboozler.

I REALLY DONT UNDERSTAND WHEN I HEAR PEOPLE SAY I WONT VOTE FOR TRUMP. SAYING THINGS LIKE I,LL JUST STAY HOME AND NOT VOTE. EVEN IF THATS MEANS HANDING THE PRESIDENT OVER TO HILLERY. KNOWING THAT WOULD BE AS BAD AS OBAMA. IM ALL FOR PULLING FOR YOUR GUY OR GIRL BUT REMEMBER AT SOME POINT YOU GOT TO DO WHATS BEST FOR THIS COUNTRY. LOOK AROUND PEOPLE THINGS ARE GETTING VERY DANGEROUS. WE HEAR TALK ABOUT GLOBAL WARMIMG AND LOOKING OUT FOR OUR KIDS.. IT STARTS THE SAFETY OF THIS COUNTRY.. GOD BLESS US ALL

Interesting comments on both side. As for the one who has more respect for “O”, I feel sorry for you. It’s not about a mic, it’s about saving our country from socialism. In business you lose some and you win some but you gotta play the game in order to be successful. I know of no businessmen that has never lost money in order to be successful. As for his treatment of the people that work for him, I haven’t seen any of them come forward to say things against Mr. Trump. What about the family that picked him up when he had car trouble in a rural part of N.Y. He paid off their mortgage. Can anyone tell any stories about other candidates or the other side like that. All they know is take, take, take. It is time to stop that mind set in Washington.

  17. Jcellops on January 14th, 2016 9:33 am

Well, I almost went to see him- even though I WONT be voting for him…..personally, i am a steadfast Carson supporter…..I, too, am mad about the damage our country has sustained over the last 7 years…it’s scary, frankly…but, I refuse to sell my soul or turn a blind eye to a filthy rich, arrogant man, who uses psychological tactics (bullying/fear) to reach his goal….on another note, I can’t understand for the life of me, why O’maly isn’t doing better… He’d be a much better choice than the other two democratic candidates- in my opinion..

Do not believe Mr. Trump will be our nominee but, I am glad he is on the scene and drawing so much attention. He has kicked open the door for conservative issues at a time when there is no more time for treading lightly or politely. His often outrageous comments have served to energize folks who might otherwise still be members of the “silent majority”. They have caught the attention of those who did not identify with either party. They have served as counterpoints to the actions of the current administration; actions which have, in the opinions of many, done great harm to this nation. The pundits often say the political pendulum swings from uber liberal to ultra conservative. We will have suffered through eight years of liberal (putting it kindly) mindset and it’s time for the pendulum to swing in the other direction. I hope Ted Cruz will be our nominee but I am glad for the attention Donald Trump has garnered.

  20. bama54 on January 14th, 2016 8:45 am

To the people Who don’t like Trump, then tell me who? Who are the candidates spending their own money? What candidates who will not have to payback favors to the big money supporters? I know you have the evangelicals Who will tell you Carson is the man because he stood up to President Obama at a morning prayer breakfast, and you have the establishment crowed who will push their candidate (list of several) to keep things just as they are, you have Cruz who has pushed back against the establishment from day one (does this make him the man?) I see Donald Trump as a man who cares deeply about this country and feels he can make a difference. I believe he thinks as I do, this country is going down the wrong path (rat hole) and this maybe the last chance we have to change the direction of this country. No, he does not speak like a politician, but he is the guy you can talk with around the coffee table, or the guy you may (if you drink) have a beer with. He is saying just what everyone in the country is saying, but he has the guts to say it out loud! I believe Donald Trump is the man.

i have no idea why yall do not like trump. he is going to run this country like a business an get rid of that political correctness. yall say hes speaking gutter talk. this is what america needs. we will bring it back again. if you dont like it leave.

  22. BRING IT ON on January 14th, 2016 8:23 am

Mr. Trump is only saying what everyone is thinking whether you want to admit it or not. If us Americans truly want to change things vote out everyone in office now and vote someone else in, one term period. If they’re not part of the solution then they must be part of the problem. Send a special message, do your job or “YOU’RE FIRED”! Take politics and special interest out of the mix and you will have a government that will work for “WE THE PEOPLE “.

Was just in Las Vegas where Trump built a 24 carat gold gilded tower in 2008 that he wanted to make into a casino / hotel, but the powers in Las Vegas were much greater than him and he couldn’t accomplish it. He had to turn the huge building into a hotel, condo & timeshare complex. He fought hard and couldn’t get a casino, and he’s a powerful billionaire. If he can’t close in Vegas, he won’t do much for the country, but blow a lot of steam, curse abundantly, and be unable to deliver on promises. Nevertheless, I like the crazy SOB.

Music was Adel, Elton John, show tunes and contemporary jazz. No country. Wide age demo. 25/74. Crowd was high energy but, low information. House holds 10k folks and he packed it out. Standing room only.

  29. Dudley Herrington on January 14th, 2016 6:29 am

I sure wish I could have seen Mr. Trump. In My Humble Opinion He is the only
    Candidate Worthy of being President.
All the other Candidates just don’t have the Common Sense to run this Great Country. Most of them have their heads in the big hog trough, If they were straight
they could IMPEACH that guy who is “BREAKING” America, but nooo, they are to
    crook-ed !!!!!!!!!!

  30. john on January 14th, 2016 6:28 am

I’m a.republican and have to say I don’t care for trump, I have more respect for President Obama than Trump, and would have to say to Trump “Did you specify what type of mic you wanted, because if you didn’t you had better pay him” and secondly many folks don’t realize he keeps a copy of the book Mein Kampf on his bed side night stand, for you guys that don’t know what that is, research Trump, he denies that four of his Atlantic City casinos went bankrupt but they did. Just remember, as harsh as he treats people on the campaign trail, whats to stop him from doing the same to you if he becomes president

  31. Hmmm on January 14th, 2016 6:27 am

Yep, that’s all this country needs is an arrogant, belligerent & hot under the collar President, just ready to nuke the first country that slights his ego, in the least. He sure talks bada$$ for a guy that dodged the draft 5 times, despite being high on the fraft list. I can’t believe he had the gall to insult his own party member & former Vietnam, POW, SenatorJohn McCain, saying that Mr. McCain was not a hero, because he was captured. At least Sen. McCain had the coconuts to go over there & fight for his country. All Trump did was fight for the cutest European model on the ski slopes of France; while people like McCain were being tortured. Trump’s a coward & a blowhard.
