Warren Eugene (Gene) Austin

Gene Austin, 73 of Pensacola, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2015. Gene was born on July 8, 1942, to the late Edward and Ida Austin of Pensacola. He was the owner of Austin Construction for 47 years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing and antique cars.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Henry Austin, Cray Austin and John Austin; and two sisters, Marguerita Oates and Mable Lewis.

Gene is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Johanna (Tina) Austin; two daughters, Veronica Harris and Kathy Kelley along with their spouses, Wade Harris and Fred Kelley; three grandchildren, Logan Kelley, Kristen Kelley and Analeigh Harris; two brothers, Edward Austin and Bill Austin; and a sister, Eleanora Romick.

The family will accept friends on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at 12 p.m. with the funeral service to begin at 1 p.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Pastor Jeff Walker officiating.

Interment will follow at Godwin Cemetery, Bratt, FL.

Pallbearers will be Terry Austin, Mike Austin, Henry Austin, Eddie Austin, Wyatt Gibson, Bob Pate, Andy Horn and Logan Kelley.

Flowers will be accepted or make donations to Covenant Hospice of Pensacola.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home North is in charge of arrangements.
