Two Children Drink Acid At Meth House; Two Arrested

December 10, 2015

Two young children are recovering in the hospital after ingesting acid from a Santa Rosa County meth lab.

A three-year old and another young child were transported to an area hospital with injuries related to the ingestion of a liquid, according to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office. They said the chemical was consistent with the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

A search warrant was executed at their home on Fleetwood Drive, with deputies recovering numerous items that indicated meth was being produced.

Amber Nicole Cooley, 24, and Kyle Joseph Cooley 27,. were charged with child neglect with great bodily harm, manufacture of methamphetamines with children present, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of drug equipment and possession of listed chemicals. Both are being held without bond.

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office has not released the condition of the children.

I have been spending some time at sacred heart, going thru our own life issues, and about ten mins ago was introduced to one of these children. Even now I’m choked up, so innocent, so much pain. At least one is still here as of Jan 28 and in so much pain. These baby’s need love and prayers. I’ve seen a lot and have become hardened over the years but my heart is broken tonight for this poor baby

Unfortunately the state will do whatever it can to put those children back with their parents. All the parents will have to do is take a few classes…serve a couple days in the pokie then back on the streets. All the while receiving federal aid for the kids. The officials want the families to always be intact…no matter what the circumstances. That is the main reason I quit being a foster parent. You get the child straightened out(sometimes it is just the environment they are living in)and boom the state sends them back home….

Hopefully they will get enough time, that the children are adults by the time they are released.

If these children survive their injuries I hope they are never returned to these monsters. Unfortunately after their prison terms they will be able to get them back because unfortunately even monsters have rights. How horrifying
