State Employees Get Christmas Eve Off
December 22, 2015
State employees will have a little extra time this week to do last-minute holiday shopping, as they will receive the day off on Christmas Eve, according to Gov. Rick Scott’s office. Christmas Day is one of a series of paid holidays that state workers have each year, but Christmas Eve isn’t automatically on the list.

Hey JS, you certainly are incorrect in your stmt about state employees. WE don’t get off a lot. You should probably check your facts on that false stmt. BTW we haven’t had a raise in over 7 years…..Every now and then, a little something thrown our way by the Governor is greatly appreciated.
At my job for some reason we don’t get paid for any holidays and it’s a state job….. is that right?
Like they don’t get enough paid holidays off already?
That’s great if you’re one of the lucky ones that Gov Scott has not eliminated and cut your job. He’s all Heart, Big Hearted Rick.
Vetoes all spending for disabled children, Vetoes raise for State Forestry
Fire Fighters, No raise for State Correction Officers in nine years.
Gov Scott approves 2 million taxpayer dollars for a sea wall around a
Golf course in South Florida. Gov Scott spends 1.3 Million taxpayer dollars
to settle lawsuits against him for violating Florida Sunshine Laws for open
government. No Gov in Florida history has ever used taxpayer dollars for this. The Grinch
Until the correction officers get the raise they have been denied for years, scott will be the grinch that stole Christmas!
