Driver Cited After Three-Vehicle Highway 95A Crash
December 24, 2015
An elderly driver was cited by the Florida Highway Patrol following a three vehicle crash Wednesday night in Cantonment.
According to the FHP, 73-year old Joann Elliot Reeves of Cantonment was traveling north on Highway 95A at Old Chemstrand Road about 5:30 p.m. when she failed to stop her Toyota Avalon at a stop sign and rear-ended a Chevrolet driven by 24-year old Mercedes Kay Byrd of Pensacola. The Impala then collided with a 2005 Toyota Tacoma drive by 34-year old Christy Lee Davis.
Reeves, Byrd, and a four-year old passenger in Byrd’s vehicle were all transported to Sacred Heart Hospital with minor injuries. Davis and an eight-year old passenger in her vehicle were not injuries.
Reeves was cited for careless driving, expired registration and no proof of insurance, according to a FHP report.

The 73 year old woman (Jo Ann) that has NO isurance and expired tags never should have had her irresposible self on the road and then slam into the rear end of a stopped car at a stop sign that then T-boned me and my daughter almost flipping my truck.
Mercedes, hope you and the baby are okay.
Thanks to everyone that stopped to offer assitance.
this is why some old people shouldnt drive,,,she hit my cousins car from the back causing her to hit the car in front of her.
there was a flashing light there for a long time and very few accidents. then DOT took the light down. And Boy the wrecks began two or three a week. Florida DOT dumb.
Hope you are OK Joann. For some reason there are a number of drivers who are on 95-a drive through the stop sign. I have seen it a number of times and can only guess they feel that 95-a has the right of way. Maybe a flashing light would help. Stoping on the other road could cause traffic to stop on the RR tracks.
I should buy a rollback and open up a bodyshop..
I seen the whole wreck happen! It was awful! Prayers for all!!
With all the wrecks in North Escambia Co lately its time to open The Joey Chitwood School of Driving.
Crash on people.
Crash on.
