I’ve lived in Cottage Hill area of Cantonment for over 40 yrs. Hwy 29 has become the major road for accidents. Study is imperative!!!! FHP regularly patrols north of Muscogee but we need more work south to I-10. The ultimate solution is to connect 95A south of Paper mill to 95A north of paper mill. That would give two more lanes of north/south bound to the 4 lanes of 29. Eventually, DOT will have to come up with another north bound EVACUATION ROUTE as 29 cannot handle the local traffic!!!!!

The FHP could make a fortune on speeding tickets on Hwy 29 in the Cantonment 40 mph and 45 mph speed zones. Also from the red light runners at the northern light signal.

Another I see everyday going to and from work up Hwy 29 from Kingsfield is ppl texting. This has gotten epidemic. These ppl slow to a crawl, then seem to brake for no apparent reason. They are a menace to driving. Another issue I see a lot of on 29 are the tailgaters. The speed limit is 45 -but most think it is 85 and if you drop your speed to anything around 65, you are most likely going to be almost run off the road by tailgaters. Not sure what the solution is….But, it is crazy on Hwy 29.

It would be interesting to see a true year-long traffic incident report of Hwy 29.
We see accident upon accident and some very sadly are life-ending.

What is the number of traffic incidents?
What time of day are they happening?
What is the true reported cause of the accident?
Really just makes people not want to drive on 29.

Oh Yes, realize hundreds of thousands travel with no problem, glad for them.
Thank you for paying attention and not being “distracted” or sleeping behind the wheel.
