I am not for more gun control. Thugs will get guns if they want them. What I AM for is more laws regarding ex-felons with firearms. Right now, that’s the purpose of the laws concerning these individuals – if they are caught with guns, they go back to prison with an enhanced sentence. I’m all for getting them off the streets if they have shown, by possession of a firearm, that they are not interested in being law abiding citizens. The laws don’t keep the felons from getting the guns, but they do help put them away for a while!

To anyone calling for more gun control…

    No.Your move, sweetheart.

I love people who think outlawing guns will keep criminals from getting them.

Drugs are illegal so we know criminals can’t get those anymore!!

@ meme pulled it or not. He should have never had it. Furthermore he should’ve stayed in the car and didnt run. He got shot because he had a pistol and probably did pull it at some point. These thugs are like cockroaches. You step on them and the keep running.

  5. Meme on December 5th, 2015 10:57 pm

Did he pull it? Why did he get shot

@ David Green– we’ll cross that bridge when we cross it– per Kennedy.

I have read enough about this gun control bs. Gun control will only affect the law abiding citizen who goes about it the correct way. These thug animals who obtain these gun the illegal way could care less on what laws are on the books. Remember if these thugs followed the law there wouldn’t be crime out here. But for the law abiding gun owners and citizens you need to remove you guns from your car each night and lock you car doors. Don’t leave spare keys in your glove box, under your seat, center console and remove any valet key out of your cars owners manual. This is the way these thugs are able to commit these crimes daily. Working as a deputy in this county this is what we deal with daily.

Bob, You can’t deport everybody on the NO FLY LIST because many of them are natural~born citizens. Anybody can be put on the list. Suposedly Senator Ted Kennedy was put on the list. What if Ireland wouldn’t take him?

  9. Seriously on December 5th, 2015 1:26 pm

Everytime a shooting occurs, people want to take guns away from the people that DIDN’T do it! Cain killed Abel with a rock, guns aren’t the problem, the people behind them are.

We are behind you ECSO. I am confident you upheld the law and protected yourself and others. We are on the side of the law. Thank you for your service to the community.

Bob’s Brother- i understand your anger. What laws do you propose be made to control possession of weapons by criminals without affecting the second amendment rights of upstanding responsible folks ? All the laws passed so far have done nothing but restrict and retard the second amendment and the responsible folks. If you have an idea, please be realistic.

You watch, the suspects will “lawyer up” with a good one, turn around and sue the sheriff’s dept. for “racial profiling” and assorted other things….wait for it along with the protest and cries for “justice” I for one am sick of it!!

How many of you believe a convicted felon purchased the firearm legally? If you believe we need more gun laws your the problem with this country. The gun used was most likely obtained from a residential burglary in which stricter gun laws can not prevent from happening. We need more armed law abiding citizens because cops are not always on the scene.

God bless our officers…. Way under paid and way under appreciated.

  16. Joe on December 5th, 2015 9:17 am

Why does everyone holler gun control when stuff like this happens again criminal is a criminal they can get whatever they want when they want it so pretty much gun control that once to be back passed is not going to be helpful it will just make the good people suffer and the criminal more in control but our according fear less leader the problem is that climate my opinion but he is an idiot

    I Respect the LAW !
I also Respect the Officers who uphold the Law. They put their lives on the line for US.
I can not understand a people who wants more protection for the thugs than our Officers of the Law. They are mostly the ones who thinks somebody OWES them
    Something !
This is a different America , than what WE grew up in, and if you are not completely “blind” get you a Permit and be prepared when these thugs COME.
    Thanks,
Be a good American and go to Church.

  18. Bob C. on December 5th, 2015 8:56 am

Heard Bill Clinton’s wife on news saying there needed to be stricter gun laws to prevent guns from getting into the hands of people on the “No-Fly List”.
Better yet, why don’t we DEPORT people who are on the No-Fly List and not allow them back into the USA.

These thugs and others arrested (that we know about) are an example of why we Must Have an Armed Citizenry.
And Nope, I do not consider these thugs or other illegal possessions by felons to be “Citizens”.
    God Please Help the USA.

    chris in Molino,
What are you talking about? None of your sentences are coherent, except for the shortest one. You seem like someone who has been caught by the law a few times and has a problem with their methods.

  20. bewildered on December 5th, 2015 8:19 am

As soon as stricter gun laws go into effect all these thugs will be turning in their weapons and change their criminal behaviors. So will all the terrorists – the mosques will overflow with Allah worshippers. Stay optimistic – we have a great future to look forward to.

  21. chris on December 5th, 2015 8:02 am

“He will face numerous charges, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.” Yep, those gun laws sure do prevent guns from getting in the wrong hands!

  22. Bob's Brother on December 5th, 2015 8:00 am

Isn’t it nice that we live in a community in which armed animals ride around in cars? This could have ended very badly for our LEO’s. I’ve said this before, we need stronger laws to keep guns out of the hands of convicted felons. Anyone who reads this site knows that ECSO and SRCSO arrest about 1 per week on these charges.

  23. chris in Molino on December 5th, 2015 7:38 am

Glad officer is ok. Now let’s talk about the other protocol. FDLE and/or State Attorney rules the shooting justified.
It may very well have been but isn’t it protocol to do so ? Can anyone ever remember when an officer shooting wasn’t deemed justified ? I know a few weren’t but I’m talking about “officially”.

Mission Control we have a Thugs riding around with Guns problem.
