Doris Carnley Lee

December 6, 2015

Doris Carnley Lee was born December 6, 1927, in Jay and departed this life on December 2, 2015, to enter into an eternity of joy in Heaven with her Lord and Savior. Upon marriage to Elver O. Lee in September 21, 1950, she became a resident of Saraland.

Mrs. Doris Lee (“Granny”) was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great, grandmother, and trusted friend. She was always ready with a big smile, words of wisdom, a big hug and kiss, or lodging for weary travelers. The love that she showed for her family and friends was inspiring and was her hallmark of character. Even though in her later years she was with pain and suffering, her strength in the Lord and being a prayer warrior was an example to be admired. She will be missed but we know she had a higher calling. Rest in the Lord, good and faithful servant.

She was preceded in death by her parents, C.P. and Naomi Carnley of Jay.

Mrs. Lee is survived by her husband of 65 years, Elver O. Lee; daughters, Olivia Lee Thompson (Pat) and Ann Lee Ray (Gary); son, Paul Lee; grandchildren, Jason Ray (April) and Ashley Ray; and great-grandchildren, Peyton Ray and Andrew Owens.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to a devoted sister-in-law, Imogene Tolbert, AseraCare, and Summer, Kay, Jan, and Essie.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at 11 a.m.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, December 7, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements by Radney Funeral Home in Saraland.
