Cantonment Man Charged With Attempted Murder, Home Invasion

A Cantonment man has been charged with attempted homicide and home invasion.
Zanterrial DeJohn Carter, 22, and another suspect allegedly entered a home on Spink Lane in Escambia County last month and held a resident down on the bed while striking him repeatedly in the head with a knife or small hatchet. The victim suffered deep wounds to his scalp and a broken arm from attempts to block the blows.
The victim told deputies that he believed Carter intended to kill him, and the only reason he survived is because he played dead during the attack.
Several items, including a TV, laptop computer and desktop computer were stolen during the incident, according to an arrest report. The total value of stolen item was $1,734.
Carter was charged with attempted homicide, home invasion robbery and grand theft. He was booked into the Escambia County Jail with bond set at $302,500. Carter was arrested Tuesday during a traffic stop on Creighton Road.
The second suspect, identified as 18-year-old Damian Terell Bush, was arrested on November 21, 2015.

Nathan & Lily Mae: Nathan,The gov’t I assure you would rather spend money on military or welfare rather than free labor from prisoners. giving welfare would be way cheaper than housing prisoners. Lilly Mae, these fellas are 18 & 22 years old. I’m sure they were not out as a high school break & needed a big brother friend to mentor them. They should be mentoring young kids instead of being thugs.
Do you all think that if government wanted to they could eliminate alot of unnecessary crime? Of course they could, unfortunately it’s big business and they need a “certain demographic” to fill these wonderful jails and prisons with. Free labor is a lot better than paying minimum wage. Only the uneducated don’t know this. Does this man look educated to you? Exactly!
We moved here eight yrs ago, and still we have not seen the crime that we have in OH here in Pensacola. If Pensacola can get ahead of this before it truly get out of hand meaning, opening boys and girls clubs with adult supervision, finding constructive things for the young people to do when summer breaks arrives, getting more involved with the youth remember a lot of these kids come from broken homes lack of attention, parent or parents on drugs, abuse, and mentally challenge. It is sad when we point our fingers, speak negative about the situation, but will not lift a finger to try and find out what they can do to fix the situation at hand. Some people have a lot to say because they have yet to get over their past hurts, pains, and neglects in life. We must all come together every church, every resident, the mayor, the police, the school system everyone to make the change to turn things around, and learn to listen to the young people instead of judging everything that comes out of our young people’s mouth. And Out Of Everything Remember We All Need To Pray Life Is To Short….Just My Opinion.

Nowhere in Pensacola is safe. Nowhere in Escambia county is safe I moved here int eh late 80’s and it’s always been full of crime, everywhere.. NO demographic, it’s all demographics. From the top down, bottom up. Crooked politicians, corrupt cops, rich folks dealing cocaine, murders, thefts, robberies, embezzlement, bank robberies, it’s all here!
They probably aren’t going to do much to him, he should get life or the death penalty because if the man hadn’t played dead he would have killed him for sure. Now with that being said only if he’s the right man that commuted the crime.
Back in the 1970s and 80s, this was one of the safest areas in Pensacola?

Now, it is a state college, that is dominated by a certain demographic that brings with it this type of crime. Too bad PJC went away & we are left with this.
I wish I could say better days are coming. But, Hilary is our next president. I hope we all may survive.
