No Injuries; Two Drivers Cited After School Bus Wreck

Two drivers were cited after a school bus crash on Davis Highway Friday afternoon.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the school bus, driven by 72-year old Edna Shaw Dohl, was stopped in traffic on Davis Highway when it was rear-ended by a 2014 Toyota Camry driven by 62-year old James Carl Engel of Pensacola. Engel’s Camry was then rear-ended by a Ford 350 pickup driven by 48-year old Jacob Fredrich Hartman of Milton.
There were no injures.
Engel and Hartman was both cited for careless driving by the FHP.

@Paul – according to the story, the Toyota hit the rear of the bus first, (hence the ticket), and then the Toyota was rear ended by the F350.
A Toyota isn’t a match for an F-350. I wonder how that driver got a careless ticket too?
I don’t think it’s that they don’t SEE the bus. Drivers are fare more careless than they were even just 20 years ago. They tailgate, they sGPS.n they weave in and out of traffic, and they are far too busy with all the electronics in the car, from music to phone to GPS.

My daughter in law says they blend in to the yellow lines on the road.
Really though, I have no idea why. They seem to be invisible. Maybe more police following behind the buses, ticketing the stupid people? I doubt we have the Police available though.
Unfortunately I don’t think pink would work either. If they can’t see a big canary yellowbus with bright red flashers then a different color wont help:-(
It’s big and yellow. What more can we do so people SEE the bus. Paint it pink?
