Timothy Clayton Maddox, Sr.

Tim Maddox, 63 years old, heard the final “all aboard” for the train bound for glory on September 5, 2015. He was born in Pensacola, on April 22, 1952, and grew up in the Ferry Pass community. Tim retired from CSX Transportation as a Locomotive Engineer in 2012 with 34 years of service.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Clayton Miller Maddox; his mother, Lena Horton Maddox; and brother, Bud John Maddox.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Beverly Baggett Maddox; his children, James (Gwen) Perry, Clayton (Lisa) Maddox, Joseph Perry, and Kaylene Maddox; three grandsons, Wyatt Perry, Waylon Perry, and Jasper Maddox; two sisters, Carol (James) Hopkins and Katie Sue (Forrest) Chapman; and one brother, Ray (Terri) Maddox.

Pallbearers will be James Perry, Clayton Maddox, Joseph Perry, Ray Maddox, John Barnett and Kenny Stewart.

Officiating the service will be Rev. John F. Edwards and Rev. William Hodge.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Clear Springs United Methodist Church. A visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m.

Tim will be committed to heaven in Clear Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Our family would like to express our appreciation to Dr. Sherif Ibrahim and his staff, Dr. James Adams and his staff, Dr. Amber Gordon and her staff, Dr. Paul Freitas and his staff, Baptist Hospital Cancer Center and Gentiva Hospice for the compassion, care and support we received during Tim’s illness.
