A motorcyclist was critically injured after hitting a guardrail and being thrown off a bridge Wednesday night.

The accident was reported about 9 p.m. on County Road 99 about a mile north of Crabtree Church Road in a remote area outside Molino. It appeared the motorcyclist was southbound on Highway 99 when he hit a bridge guardrail and was ejected from the motorcycle over the guardrail and onto the creek bank below. The Suzuki sports bike came to rest on the bridge against a guardrail.

The accident was discovered by a passing motorist; the exact time of the crash was not known.

The driver was airlifted by LifeFlight to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola in critical condition.

The accident remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. Further details, including the name of the motorcyclist, have not been released.

The Molino and Walnut Hill stations of Escambia Fire Rescue, Atmore Ambulance and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office also responded.

To all so quick to judge or say anything negative just stop writing and send prayers!!! This is my sons best friend and very very precious young man. He is fighting for his life and only God knows why and what happened. This is a night mare for David’s and any other Mom. Wake up people start caring about others again the the world use to be. Support he’s family, friends and pray for a full recovery. Tell your loved ones how much you love them Everyday. Thank you for everyone that helped him that night God bless you.

I agree. Who are we to judge. We need to only pray for this man and his family.

How about redirecting to the victim who is hurt and a family consumed with worry? Rather than speculation, reason or blame how about placing energy into lifting this man in prayer for healing and peace for his family during this time?

Went thru there Friday night on my bike, no problems. If you ride, wear your gear, observe the rules of the road and pay attention to others as they are likely paying more attention to their phone than they are to you.

    @Kris
    Hard to say.
May depend on how many more bad drivers make bad decisions while driving g thru there.
I have been going thru there for over 40 years without an accident.
Oh yeah, it has lowered speed signs and curve signs.

    Pay attention.

    >>How many accidents will happen in the section of Hwy. 99 between Crabtree Church Rd. and Luth Rd. before the county lowers the speed limit with dangerous curves signs? Not to mention that the road conditions are really bad. Bad patch jobs and crumbling shoulders

How many accidents will happen in the section of Hwy. 99 between Crabtree Church Rd. and Luth Rd. before the county lowers the speed limit with dangerous curves signs? Not to mention that the road conditions are really bad. Bad patch jobs and crumbling shoulders! Bad enough in a vehicle but near impossible to drive on with a bike after dark.

I know him very well. He’s a good friend. Extremely skilled rider and great person. I hope you pull through man, I’m gonna stop by and see you soon as I can. Please stay as strong as I know you are and hold on and pull through.

First thing I noticed was that the headlight was deleted, then replaced by some dinky little light on a bracket. The tires also look extremely bald. Recipe for disaster.

Trackday bike with slicks, looks like, musta been getting some practice in, or doing some testing. A lotta bridges have a bump as you get on them, can destabilize a bike quite a bit, esp at high speed, which I think played a factor here. Most sportbike guys wear a helmet, thankfully, though a helmet won’t save you at very high speed.
