Melba Jean Kennington

Melba Jean Kennington age 78, of Santa Rosa County, is resting in Jesus on September 15, 2015. She was a loving, caring, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She was thoughtful, selfless and godly woman. She was a very faithful Waffle House customer. She won the best yard in Santa Rosa County in 1996. She took pride in her home, family, and friends. Jean will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Ellie Mae Cawthon; husband, David Agerton; son, Dewayne Kennington; brothers, TJ and Arnold Cawthon; and sister, Fannie Blaine.

She is survived by her sons, Lamar Kennington and Randolph (April) Kennington; grandchildren, Marissa Kennington, Marsha Kennington, Devin (Joey) Gallant, Kristen Kennington, Holly Kennington, Ashleigh Kennington, Fischer Kennington, Lacie Kenninton, and TJ Kennington; great-grandchildren, Quintin Kennington, MaKenzie Kennington, Caden Smith, Joseph Gallant, Gianna Warren, James Gallant, Davyana Warren, and Kaelee Smith; sister, Doris Worley; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola at 1:15 p.m.

Active pallbearers will be Randolph Kennington, Lamar Kennington, Marissa Kennington, Marsha Kennington, Devin Gallant, Kristen Kennington, and Holly Kennington and Lacie Kennington.

Jay Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
