Attempted Robbery, Abduction In West Florida ER Parking Lot Under Investigation (With Video)

September 12, 2015

Deputies are investigating an attempted robbery and abduction in the parking lot of the emergency room at West Florida Hospital.

The incident occurred about 11 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8 as a hospital employee was leaving work. An unknown suspect reached inside her vehicle, covering her eyes with his hand.

The victim stated she could see through the man’s fingers and felt a knife to her throat.

The man had her exit her vehicle, placed her inside an unknown vehicle and left the hospital parking lot. A second unknown male was in the backseat of the vehicle and put a handkerchief over the victim’s eyes. It appears they intended to steal from the victim but she had no wallet or bank card with her. The suspects drove her back to the hospital, leaving her unharmed.

Late Friday afternoon, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office released a video they shows the suspect vehicle pulling up in the hospital emergency room parking lot and one of the suspects exiting the vehicle.

If you have any information on the crime or the vehicle, call Crime Stoppers at (850) 433-STOP.

A very good friend of mine almost got abducted from Wal-Mart parking lot on Mobile highway. Some men in a van pulled up, and tried to grab her. Lucky for her, she managed to get in her vehicle and lock her doors. They stood behind her car, but she kept backing up. They finally left. I would have floored the gas petal, and squashed them like a bug. She called the cops, and later found out another lady almost had the same thing happen to her, but that attempt failed as well, thank God. Wonder if this incident had any connection to the Wal-Mart incident. Hmmmmmm.

There could be a link to an abduction that occurred about 3 years ago near West Florida hospital. A young lady was left in a field with multiple stab wombs, etc.on Jernigan.

Let’s no forget several security cameras were not working at West Florida Hospital. As a nurse who works at WF I find that very concerning.

Whether a weapon would have been helpful depends on whether she could have gotten to it before the thug grabbed her – from the account of the crime, it sounds like he got the drop on her. I wonder where the security guards for the hospital were, and whether she had tried to get an escort.

    Aren’t hospitals “no gun zones”?
    Oh, yea…par for the course.

They should call these places “commit any illegal act you wish without fear of self defense” zones.

“attempted abduction” I believe that was an abduction. Too bad she wasn’t carrying.
