Mr. Allen Henderson, Jr., 90, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, in Jay.
Mr. Henderson was a native of Century and a resident of Flomaton for most of his life. Mr. Henderson was member of Century Masonic Lodge 213 at Century, Pensacola Scottish Rite, Abba Shrine Temple of Mobile and the Flomaton First Baptist Church. He was Veteran of WWII, flight instructor, built airplanes, had a current pilots license, was owner of Henderson Ready Mix Concrete and was still working up to his death and held a CDL license.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Zela Henderson; brother, Wiley P. Henderson; and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Joyce Henderson of Flomaton; one son, James Allen (Renita) Henderson of Flomaton; two daughters, Ann Henderson Schmitz of Birmingham and Zela Marie Henderson of Pensacola; seven grandchildren, Christina Ann, James Francis, Layla Ann, Amanda Joyce, Dorothy Zela, Allen and Beaureguard Prestwood; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Willneila Wiggins Henderson of Flomaton.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 19, 2015, at the Flomaton First Baptist Church with Rev. Earl Lee officiating.
Burial was at the Little Escambia Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Buddy Lee Roberson, Wiley Phillip Henderson, Jr., James Allen Henderson, James Francis Henderson, Allen Henderson and Beaureguard Prestwood Henderson.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Brother Masons.
Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes is in charge of all arrangements.
