Willie Ward

Willie Ward, 78, of Cantonment passed away Friday, August 28, 2015.

He was born November 26, 1936, to Tom and Winnie Ward of Molino where he was raised.  Willie was one of 11 children.  He is preceded in death by his brothers Ebb Ward, Bud Ward, Junie Ward, Ray Ward and Bill Ward.  He is survived by two brothers, Lonnie Ward and Wayne Ward of Molino, three sisters, Jean Moody (Bob) of Milton, Tiny McCrory of Pensacola and Ruth Neal of Cantonment, step-son, Ray Gene White of Cantonment and special cousin, Jim Denham, whom he loved as a brother.   Special friends include Booter Fillingim, Arnold Gibson, Jody Newton, Harold Holder, Esaw White, Pete Thomas and many, many others.

His career included 10 years at Miami Beach Yacht Corp, five years with a tugboat company, Tennessee Towing Company and 20 years in construction with Local Union 277, Mobile Built and Trade.

Willie had a great love for fishing, camping, boating and hunting.  His family and friends were very important to him.

Active pallbearers will be Tommy McCrory, Morris Shreve, Pete Ward, Chuck Ward, Foy Perry and Jim Denham.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at 1noon  at Faith Chapel North with the service beginning at 1:00 pm.  Burial will follow at Highland Baptist Church Cemetery in Molino.  Rev. Carlos Jackson and Rev. Jimmy Cook will officiate.
