Traffic Note: First Day Of School In Escambia, AL

Today is the first day of school for the Escambia County (AL) school system, and that means buses will be back on the road.

Drivers are also encouraged to use extra caution in school zones.

Local law enforcement agencies say they will be on the lookout for those violating speed restrictions in school zones.

    Good try Mike, but you have got a better chance of winning the lottery than trying to get people to not text while driving. Look at how many lives have been lost already because of the all important texting while driving. The lame law that is in place is a joke, Until you hurt people in their wallet and an aggressive effort by LEO’s to slam violator’s the problem will continue…stupid people with smart phones…

    And please remember – DO NOT TEXT especially in school zones. A child’s life is not worth a text message. Wait until you get out of the school zone and off the road. You will feel good inside knowng you did all you could to not harm any child or any other driver or person who might be injured or killed while you were texting. Take care and be safe.
