Nancy “Sunshine” Frye

Nancy “Sunshine” Frye, 74, of Pensacola, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015.

Nancy was born on November 15, 1940, in Pensacola to the late Hobert C. and Doris Parker.

In 1975 she started her own ceramic business in Honolulu, Hawaii and named it Sunshine Ceramics. After relocating to Pensacola in 1982 she continued her business until her death.

She was an artist of many talents. She was a painter, sculptor, doll maker, seamstress, and enjoyed teaching her skills to many others. She was adored by everyone. She was the type of person that never met a stranger and was the life of the party! Nancy enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her son, Edward C. Davis; parents; sister, Annette Preston; brother, David Parker; her two nieces, Diane Bedgood and Lucy Parker; and one nephew, Michael Preston.

This loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother is survived by her husband, Samuel H. Frye; children, Tonya J. (Eddie E.T.) Thibodeaux, Frank S. (Steven) Davis and Katherine M. (Clinton) Wombles; and two sisters, Marion Douglas and Linda (Jim) Cheek; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Reverend Bill Flannigan officiating.

Family will receive friends at 10 a.m. prior to services.
