Five Arrested For Dog Fighting

Five people have been jailed after a dog fighting investigation in Escambia County.
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the 3800 block of Moreno Street in reference to a report of possible dog fighting. After an investigation, five suspects were arrested and several vehicles and guns were seized, along with a bulletproof vest.
Deputies arrested Kawain Marquese Smith, 25; Donald Andrew Gaston, 26; Roderick Terrill Foster, 28; Derric Shermaine Kitt, 28; and Eric Jermaine Kitt, 28.
Each suspect was charged with nine counts of animal cruelty and two counts of animal fighting. Smith was also charged with three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Deputies said additional arrests are possible.
Nine dogs were seized by Escambia County Animal Control. Seven of those dogs were euthanized, while two puppies are undergoing medical treatment. The dogs were euthanized due to injuries and severe aggression issues.

How can anyone be mean to a dog, and cause them pain and suffering? That eludes me. And, breaks my heart. I hope they are punished sufficiently. I guess they’ve never known love, or they could not do this to creatures who give it unconditionally. :’(
Hopefully these punks won’t get aquitted like many of them have NUMEROUS times. Or get a slap on the wrist when they do get found guilty (probation for poss. of firearm by convicted felon).

To the animals– i saved your pictures on my phone. It could be in Walmart or wherever i see you. It’d be a shame if “somebody” were to beat you down and spit in your face then throw you a banana. Heck, it’s just misdemeanor battery. Maybe that “somebody” would even get aquitted !
Dogs and All lives matter, nwo. Not sure if the comments were a poke of recent events around the US but these men should face the harshest of sentences. I have NO pity on worthless scum that abuses animals for their profit and entertainment. I’m not a fan of the pitbull breed but can see why some do turn out they way they do. There is dog fighting here in Atmore and surrounding areas that needs to be stopped. I’m all for throwing the keys away on the worthless scraps of humanity that take part in the vile, illegal sport!
When I sit here and read this I can feel my insides start to rage- like I want to explode with anger…I in vision myself tearing these “men” apart with my bare hands… Of course, I’m not strong enough- these are animals with extreme sociopathic tendencies …just plain evil…reminds me of the feelings I get when I read about child molesters- who damage an innocent child’s mental and physical life for years, if not a lifetime…these animals have damaged these once innocent dogs to the point of no return…now, to which ever judge gets this case, my vote is for NO MERCY!
These scumbags deserve hard time. They are all a bunch of worthless criminals! I see they are all convicted felons and I see that at least one is on felony probation. If you criminals are reading this I say have fun in prison.
In my opinion the dogs are not the only ones that should be euthanized! DLM!

Before the dogs were euthanized, these guys should have been put in the pen with the dogs for an hour or so. Then euthanize all involved. Sad for the dogs, hope these animals go away for a long time.

These five should have been euthanized due severe aggression issues. The dogs were forced to fight, these mutts made their choice.
