Where’s The Beef? Deputies Seek Stolen Meat
July 17, 2015
Where’s the beef? — That’s a question the Escambia County (AL) Sheriff’s Office is asking today after a theft at a home outside Flomaton. Deputies believe someone in a small car helped themselves to hundreds of dollars worth of beef from a carport freezer.
About 1:00 Thursday afternoon, neighbors and nearby relatives watched as a small car pulled up to a home on Lister Loop off Oil Well Road. No one was home, and the vehicle sped away a short time later. When relatives investigated, they found that a carport freezer had been burglarized, and most of a butchered and frozen half of a cow was missing.
“This would be high quality meat wrapped in freezer paper, not in packages like from the grocery store,” Escambia County (AL) Chief Deputy Mike Lambert said. “We believe someone may try to sell it, especially in large quantities.”
The suspects’ vehicle was described as a small car, possible a Fiat, that was maroon in color on the sides and hood with a white top.
Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call the Escambia County (AL) Sheriff’s Office at (251) 809-0741 or their local law enforcement agency.

@ Cantonment – Hungry man that STEALS food to feed his family vs Man that will now go hungry because he worked hard for his food to “FEED HIS FAMILY” and hungry deadbeat wanted it.
Yeah, let me get back to you on the sympathy part as soon as I am off work!
@Don
Amen ! Glad to see others are aware of what is surely coming and understand what’s really happening around them.
I wonder if the guy will sell the beef for some pills.
Maybe they should mooooooove to a safer town like pollard!
It’s a shame some poor person cannot find a job and work to buy own food than go steal from another person..Sorry Sorry people..I happen too know the man that owned this BEEF. .This person works hard for every dime…Hope these scrum bags get caught cause they some sorry people..
Maybe when caught they should be put in the slaughter house for a little tenderizing.
Not surprised,it won’t be long until they start kicking in our doors to get what they want….arm yourselves folk’s it’s gonna get rough sooner than later.
It doesn’t matter what the thieves stolen, it was wrong! Beef or not they will pay at the end of the day. I have no sympathy for a thief. …….
Do you all think the sheriffs department will have a STEAK out?
People let me tell you something : please my Granddaddy once said and i think it is true” a lock is a honest person ” and I think he is correct even now that was over 60 years ago you can lock it but if they want that bed they will take it
To the person who the meet was stolen from I am truly sorry to hear this, but someone you know or seen or a friend of a friend got this from you The crook did not just pick your house and saw that freezer out there and said wounder what is in it? lets check
They knew what was in there keep this in mind and again i am sorry to hear this happen
Seems like a lot of folks are trying to be funny and make light of this incident. Obviously nothing was stolen from your house.
A thief is a thief is a thief and I can’t stand for someone to steal. Who cares if it was meat. Most people steal a car because they need a ride. Does that make it acceptable??? Absolutely not!!!! So why make an excuse for someone that will pull into someone’s yard and take meat out of the freezer from people who work for a living to pay for the meat. Get real people!!!!!!
I live in this area and I can guarantee you that if this thief or thieves got caught at many of my neighbors house they will stand a great chance at staring down the barrel of a gun.
They could have just asked if they could have some meat. No need to steal. Either way its ridiculous that police have to work such a pathetic case as this.
Beef its whats for dinner.
The morals of yesteryear are gone for good! Today, if thieves can see it, know of it and it is not under lock and cemented down; they think it is fair game to take. They even blame the owner for not better protecting his property (blame shift). There is no right or wrong. It is all about what you think you can get away with.
Sad decline of society when they took the Bible out of schools!

“All these stupid puns, did anybody stop and think maybe they were just hungry? Trying to feed their family? Seriously. Have you seen the price of meat lately? People have done far crazier things.”
Did you stop to think that they just took food from the mouths of the rightful owner?
They should be shot on sight if caught doing it again.
If they eat the evidence, no conviction?

These theives will mooo-ve just about anything of value. I do feel sorry for the real owner and hope he doesn’t cow-er down and just let it go. My guess is someone knew he had all this beef and decided to help themselves to it.
My advice, sir:loin yourself with a good lock on your freezer. Hope the theives kept plenty of room to see in their getaway car from all that stolen meat. Otherwise they could get T-Boned in an accident….
I listened to the swap shop yesterday and someone was trying to sell beef in a large quantity, not saying this is the same person but does make you wonder!
Most likely someone had a beef with their neighbor.
or
They decided that it needed to be moo-ved.
Where’s the beef !!!!!!!
