Scott Orders Flags To Half-Staff In Honor Of Chattanooga Service Members

Monday, Gov. Rick Scott Monday directed the flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff in honor of the five service members who were murdered at recruiting centers in Chattanooga, TN, last week. The flags are to remain at half-staff until sunset on the day of the final military member’s date of internment.

The Flag at the Beulah Volunteer fire department has been at half staff and will remain there until this madness stops !
President Obama should have lowered the nations flags to half staff.

I have been flying mine half staff since last week.
Well, we all know what and who Obama is. Therefore, we should save our words about him for our prayers to the shattered families who are in pieces. I cannot fathom losing my brother, father, son, or wife to such an evil evil act. So i sincerely hope those who know these families aren’t just paying lip service. Their bringing dinner over, cutting the grass, babysitting children, etc. Being neighborly. It seems, especially in the cookie cutter neighborhoods in town, that people have forgotten that. People no longer wave. No longer talk. Many don’t even know their neighbors. It’s a sad sad country we have become.
Thanks to the governor’s who have shown a token of respect and prayers for the families.
This makes me really proud to be a Florida resident. Thank you Governor for doing the right thing for these hero’s.
It’s stated on the Fox 4 website that the White House has not ordered flags to flown at half-staff nationally, despite a growing movement urging for a proclamation. It’s is speculated that the reason is that the five military members who were shot are considered to have died in the line of duty, and half-staff flags are not traditionally called for in that circumstance.

As far as I’m concerned, they were employed by our Government recruiting potential soldiers for the US Military, so they were on the job in the line of duty when they were massacred!
@ dman: 100% correct !!! He can’t say Islamic terrorist are the reason for their deaths. Fort Hood terrorist act was classified as work place violence . Thanks to all the Governors for honoring these GREAT service men.

Thanks a lot for nothing, Barack Obama. He lights up the White House in the colors of the gay flag and sends emissaries to the funerals of criminals…but it takes the Governor to set the flags at half staff.

Good for Gov. Scott and all the other Gov’s that have also ordered flags to half-staff to show the honor they deserve.. Apparently the murder of 5 US SERVICEMEN by a terrorist in AMERICA does not deserve the attention of Obama. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME.
