Incumbent Bill Slayton Prefiles For School Board

Incumbent William “Bill” Slayton Jr. pre-filed Tuesday as a candidate for Escambia County School Board District 5 for the 2016 election.

Slayton, a resident of Cantonment, was first elected to the school board in 2008, following an unsuccessful bid for school superintendent in 2004.

    Mr. Slayton, my feelings are that you have done an admirable job of representing the best interest of the students during your time on the School Board.
    Anyone who observes the board meetings can see that you provide thoughtful, practical, experienced considerations to the issues brought before the board and those are qualities of one whose interest is only in providing a better environment for all students throughout the county.
    Thank you Sir for your quiet and focused navigation through what can often be “tossing seas” on the School Board.

    Why do you want to be re-elected and what are your accomplishments? Why has the supplement for a Master’s Degree not changed in 31 years? How does that attract great teacher’s? Please answer these questions.
