Cantonment Dollar General Robbery Under Investigation (With Video)

June 27, 2015

An armed robbery at the Dollar General in Cantonment is under investigation.

The holdup happened just after 8:00 a.m. Friday at the store in the 1400 block of Highway 29, near Winn Dixie. The store was closed today for work to be done. Both employees and service company employees were in the building when a black male entered, pointed a gun and them and forced them to the floor.

He stole jewelry from employees and contractors, while forcing an employee to empty cash from the safe.

The suspect was wearing a very distinctive black leather jacket with the word “CHEVY”  and the automaker’s emblem printed on it and a hat with long ties. He fled with an undetermined amount of cash.

Surveillance video is at the bottom of this story. If you do not see it, it is because you home, work or school firewall is blocking YouTube video.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (850) 433-STOP or the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 436-9620.

That’s exactly why I carry “EVERYWHERE” I go outside my home, and I practice to keep my shot group tight. Just for educational purposes check out the vast selection of You Tube Videos on Dollar Store and Dollar General …etc robberies, these stores that have become the local hood rats neighborhood ATM’s. It was just several months ago that a customer that carried over in Mobile County that changed the outcome of a hold-up in progress, the perp had a weapon pointed at the head of a store worker and the hood rat’s kin pitched a fit on the news camera saying “ that he should of just looked the other way and should mind his own business” that’s the mentally in the hood, “if you got’s it, and I want’s it so dat’s dat, so give it up business owner, I AM ENTITELED TO IT. Keep one in the pipe and never ever give a vocal warning as to what’s coming the perp’s way, the first shot is warning enough.

Chrissy , You are so calm in the video , I know you and the other’s were scared. Glad that the thug robber remained calm as well, and no gunfire erupted. So thankful you/others are safe. I came by shortly to exchange propane and all the L/E vehicles there. Hope they catch this guy….he has ten years in prison to think how stupid he was.

With all the stuff going on, there will be a report coming out that all people that own Chevy things are armed criminals.

These people are very lucky. The new Dollar General on the corner of Neal road and U.S. 29 will be a sitting duck.

Chrissy, so glad you are ok. Piece of crap that did that to you and the other man needs to rot in jail. I hope you are able to put this behind you and sleep good tonight. You’re such a sweet woman and you surely didn’t deserve this.

    Man
How calm was that clerk. Just hung up the phone and started opening the safe.

Glad Noone was hurt and they should have him soon.

Anyone care to wager he’s already a convicted felon, that should have never been released in the first place. The criminals are stepping up their efforts to victimize people and businesses – prison sentences should be a lot longer – get them off the street and keep them off the street.
