Two Charged With Putting Sand, Water Into Deputy’s Jet Ski

May 28, 2015

Two  are facing charges for tampering with the fuel tank of a jet ski belonging to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the SRSO, a marine unit deputy was on routine patrol on Cold Water Creek when he spotted a group of suspected underage individuals drinking. The deputy parked his watercraft on the sand to investigate.

While the deputy was investigating the possible underage drinking, he observed two male suspects — later identified as Spencer Morgan Gonzales and Brent Allen Carroll, both 20 years old  — near his watercraft tampering with the fuel cap. The deputy discovered sand and water had been placed into the fuel system.

Upon seeing the deputy running to the watercraft, Gonzales and Carroll fled into the water where one was taken into custody by the deputy, and the other was apprehended by an off duty corrections officer with assistance of a concerned citizen.

Both were charged with felony criminal mischief property damage. The damage to the watercraft is estimated to be greater than $1,000.

What goes around definately doesn’t come around when it comes to local law enforcement running roughshod over whoever they want. When i came up you could do just about anything. Now, can’t ride a 4-wheeler anyehere, can’t go to the river without a million ways to get a ticket. Used to be FWC were guys you could drop in the swamp with a toothbrush and they’d live. Now, they’re just secretaries for their revenue hungary bosses. A bunch of kids with a bonfire, drinking and fighting, okay. But every little thing, someone should do something.

For one thing , they can’t be arrested for the crime of being STUPID , uh … I wonder how long that smile stays on his face when the judge gets through with him ? (unless they get some liberal judge)

Everyone’s assuming that the parents approve of, or even knew about, their actions. I don’t know these kids or their families, but I do know that I pretty adept at keeping my parents in the dark at that age. It is only by God’s grace that I didn’t end up with jail time for some of the bone-headed stuff that I did.
I pray that these boys get serious heart-jerking wake-up call here. My recommendation? Crew-cuts to let their friends know that Dad and Mom are still in charge, requiring them to pay everything, contacting the parents of friends who were partying there with them, and some “scared straight” time at the local lock-up.

I think there should be a class on vandalism in elementary school so these Punks will learn who really pays for their deeds. I have no mercy for them.

Two idiots. The judge needs to stop these thugs now before they increase their life of criminal activities. They need to get a good manual labor job (heaven forbid) so they will be too tired to commit crimes like this.

The guy smiling in his mug shot looks like a complete idiot. I guess he thinks it’s funny to destroy someone else’s property. What goes around/comes around.

Judging from the big grin on his face the Gonzales fellow still thinks this vandalism act was funny. Probably has parents that still cuddle him and will pick up the tab. Working at a minimum wage job instead of partying on the river all day might teach him a lesson.

With a smirk like that he probably knows mommy will pay his fine for him! No accountability for their actions leads to no responsibility in their lives, that’s one of the main reasons for the decline of our society.

These 2 found out real quick you don’t mess with the Police.

I’m wondering why this caused $1000 damage though, if the deputy saw them put the sand & water into the fuel tank, could not the tank be drained, rinsed, & refilled with clean fuel with no further repairs needed? Unless, of course, the engine was ran with the offending material still in the tank?

As I understand it, these vehicles have highly tuned, high performance 2stroke engines that are very, very sensitive to what goes into their injectors, & if an injector rebuild is needed, the repairs can easily go over $1000.

Wonder how long that perp will be smiling when he’s ordered to pay for the repair of the jet ski?

Cold Water creek is infamous for it’s LE presence. If you are going to break the law, why not do it at home?
