One person has been charged after three nearby businesses were burglarized on Commerce Street in Jay.
Joshua Gay was arrested Wednesday evening in connection with the smash and grab type burglaries. He was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail with bond set at $76,250.
The glass front door of “Jack’s Vapor” was smashed, and the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office said Gay was also responsible for burglaries at the Farmer’s Country Market and a convenience store. Investigators said groceries, soda and a roll of pennies were stolen.

This has got to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever read. Risk going to prison for a roll of pennies, groceries and soda? This guy must be the biggest idiot in this world.
All this for Candy, drink and Penny Rolls!
Your thinking is wrong……… Never made it to the Top Floor did yea!
Got off on Stupidity floor! I understand young and making bad choices but I would feel your Old enough to know Difference between right & wrong! Your Old enough to know Better! When we Leave this World! All that will be remembered is your Reputation and your Name!
They are going to love him in the gray-bar motel. But, he probably won’t get anything but a slap on the wrist. And he will blame the school system and mom & dad for his problems.
Should have stolen some Clearasil……
I knew carrot tops’ career was waning, but to stoop to burglary…also he should have grabbed a comb off the shelves as he was leaving!
He didn’t steal any candy or comic books?
Big payday.
