Hugh Jackson White

Mr. Hugh Jackson White, age 40 of Pollard, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2015.

Mr. White was a native of Brewton and a lifetime member of the Brewton and Pollard communities. He graduated ninth grade at Pollard-McCall Jr. High School in 1989 and then went on to graduate from Flomaton High School in 1992. He continued his education at Jefferson Davis Community College where he received his Associate’s Degree in 1994. In 1996 he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Middle School Math and Science and in 2002 he completed his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, both at the University of West Florida. He had served as principal for the Pollard-McCall Jr. High School since 2006. In 2013, he became a colonel by completing his Auctioneer’s certification at Troy University of Dothan. He also served as a town councilman for the Town of Pollard and was a member of Pollard United Methodist Church.

He is preceded in death by his father, F.P. “Skippy” White; grandparents, Rufus and Mary Beth White and John and Sarah White.

Mr. White is survived by his mother, Clara White of Pollard; wife, Traci Killam White of Pollard; son, Hugh Jackson “Jack” White, Jr. of Pollard; daughters, Mattie Diane White and Abbie Claire White of Pollard; brother, Todd (Kris) White of Pollard; sister, Sarah Anne (John Robert) Fountain of Pollard; six nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015, at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel from 5:30 to 9 p.m..

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. with Bro. Floyd Dyal and Bro. Winston Jay officiating.

Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Pollard.

Pallbearers will be Cade White, Donnie White, Steve Creamer, Danny Parker, Dennis Hadaway, Wesley Underwood.

Flowers are being accepted, but in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pollard-McCall Jr. High School or to Kelsie Padgett of which both donations may be made at the school.
