Escambia Corrections Officer Wanted For Armed Robbery

May 1, 2015

Police are searching for a man identified as an Escambia County Corrections officer in connection with the armed robbery of a pharmacy.

A warrant has been issued for Cameron Tristan Perkins, 29 who is wanted for armed robbery, kidnapping, grand theft of a controlled substance, using a firearm during a felony, trafficking in opium or derivative, and committing a second degree felony wearing a mask or hood.

The incident occurred around 3:35 a.m. on April 19, at CVS, 6888 N. 9th Ave. Two masked suspects forced an employee to give them narcotics at gunpoint. The employees were then forced at gunpoint into a bathroom before the suspects fled.

Derick Cannon, 31, of 1724 Dauphin Road, Pensacola, and Shawn Cannon, 29, of 4301 Creighton Road, Pensacola, were both arrested Wednesday in connection with that incident. The brothers face the same charges as Perkins and have also been charged with an additional robbery of the same CVS that occurred July 22, 2014. Narcotics were also stolen at gunpoint in that incident.

The on-going investigation is a concentrated effort involving numerous Pensacola Police officers and law enforcement officers from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms; and Gun Crime Response Team. Detective Pat Bradley is heading up the investigation from the Pensacola Police Department.

The suspects also are being investigated by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office and the Milton Police Department for similar incidents.

Detectives have contacted Perkins’ employer and family members asking their assistance in persuading him to turn himself in. Perkins is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone having information on Perkins is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (850) 433-STOP.

    Bus Driver:

You comment is one that can point to the reason behind this. Their “mom” cracked the whip? I am just speculating that there was not a father figure in their life to show them how to act like a true man and respect others like they should. There are too many young men growing up without fathers to show them the ropes of being a respectful young man that will grow into a father figure themselves one day.

If he is so innocent then why is he hiding and not turning himself in. People have no common sense.

Yal silly and as for the man that made the comment it’s innocent until proving guilty. Ok. And we correctional officers or human. So with that being said have yo day in court and let the chips fall where they may.

If ur charged with a crime, we don’t care what “really” happened…UR CHARGED WITH A CRIME!!! Some people just don’t get it. In Amerikkka, u r GUILTY until proven INNOCENT. If a warrant has been issued & u end up in jail because of that warrant, u better have a good lawyer…

@ Nakia: The first thing I would do is have my “friends” return to school and learn to spell. Then how to work SpellCheck. Then have my friends stop saying “none of you know the real story” when I was charged with a crime.

Like the ppl said the world is so judge mental. And as far as the comment about , being robbed by him at gunpoint. Pls none of you know the real story or what really happen. That’s a damn shame i’s people like some of you guys. is why the jails are over full with innocent people. Now if you was the bread winner in your family, And was accused of such crime what would you do????????

I drove the Cannon boys when they were at Tate. They were very well behaved and seemed to have a very bright future. Mom cracked the whip. Not sure why they chose this path. SMH

Let’s not forget about innocent until proven guilty. If we lifted people up, when they are found not guilty, with the same zeal as we tear them down, when they are charged, this world would be a much better place.

The hiring standards have definitely been lowered over the years.

The line between good and bad seems very thin these days and it seems that the bad is winning. What a shame.

It is a shock to see this . I worked with him and he was a nice young man with a good future and he made some very poor choices and screwed it all up. You could have done something with your life…..you could have made a difference but you chose wrong, You knew better and that’s what shocked everybody.Time to man up and turn yourself in.
