Donna Alexander-Melton

May 12, 2015

Everyday people enter your life without changing it. Once in a lifetime does someone impact your life in such a way that you are forever blessed. Donna Sue Alexander was that kind of person. Heaven is celebrating its newest angel. Donna was lifted from this earth into God’s arms on Sunday evening. She was a loving, compassionate person that truly lived to serve God and bring out the best in everyone that was blessed to meet her. She lived life to the fullest in every way. Donna would always seem to find the positive in every situation even when faced with the overwhelming negative.

A lifelong native of Pensacola, Donna worked in many volunteer capacities with several local churches helping those in need. She traveled to Indonesia on a Tsunami relief team to help comfort families and offer those suffering a vision of hope. She gave tirelessly of herself and would do so with that beautiful smile that would bring comfort and peace to those that were fortunate to see it. When asked why she gave so much to so many she would simply say “it’s the right thing to do”. Donna loved the beach and being around friends and family but the thing that gave her the most joy were her three terriers Lou, Henry and Earny. Anyone that knew Donna knew about her love of her “babies”.

Donna is preceded in death by her father, William (Bill) Alexander.

She is survived by her husband, Darrell Melton; mother, Dorothy (Dot) Alexander; sister, Tammy Alexander Beck; stepchildren, Brandon (Jami) Melton and Caisi; Amanda Melton and Jason Melton; cousin, Sandy Mason; nephew, Will (Melissa) Beck; and niece, Shawna (John) Mason and Ezra.

Pallbearers were Will Beck, Brandon Melton, Jason Melton, Andy Tobin, Mike Leckenby and Royce Johnson.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Pensacola Police Department and Fire Department for their efforts on Sunday evening.

Funeral services were held on Friday, May 8, 2015, at Olive Baptist Church with Dr. Ted Traylor.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
