Winning $80 Million Powerball Ticket Sold In North Escambia

April 12, 2015

Check those lottery tickets….someone who purchased a Powerball ticket in North Escambia  for Saturday night’s drawing is the country’s newest mega-millionaire.

The winning ticket in the $80 million Powerball drawing was sold in Davisville.  The Quick Pick ticket was the only winner in the nationwide drawing, and was sold at the locally-owned State Line Gift Shop on Highway 97, next to the Piggly Wiggly.

Saturday night’s winning numbers were  01-12-32-42-58 with a Powerball of 12.

It had been a few weeks since someone won the jackpot, with five rollovers no grand prize winner since March 25.

The State Line Gift Shop will receive a bonus of $40,000 for selling the winning ticket.

Powerball tickets are $2 each. This was Florida’s ninth Powerball jackpot winner since the state joined the game in 2009.

well regardless if they need the money or not they won it. Happy for who ever it is and I agree with the shelter for homeless people. You see so many on the streets and if given a place to eat and sleep and try to pull their life together it may help you never know. I give to those I see on the street asking for help cause you just never know and yes I know these people buy beer or alcohol with it but at least I did my part to help them. I have taught my three kids to be just as kind to people cause you just never know and life is to short to be anything but kind and loving. No matter what others may do. You have to make the difference and I do my best to teach this to my kids. Makes the world a better place.

Never mind, I should not listen to the stories my Canadian in-laws tell me!.
The guy was 7 seconds too late in getting the winning ticket printed.
Which means he got numbers for the next draw.

My bet is the winner is a retiree who’s hobby is playing the lottery.
Really does not need the winnings and will give most to their church.
Or so it always seems to be.
Hopefully the winner will not be the scrooge in Canada that spent one year and 7 seconds setting things up so that no family or spouses would be sharing his windfall.
He spent 7 seconds too much and lost $13.5 million by not claiming the prize within one year.
    True story, google it.

Well anyone who plays powerball around here might as well hang it up. What would the odds be of TWO winners from the same town/area/county. For 100 years it couldn’t happen.

GIVING people money does nothing to help them (unless they are TRULY disabled). Give them A JOB instead. Let them EARN the money. Even if the “job” is just “move this wood pile from this side of the fence to THAT side of the fence” repeatedly. If people don’t learn to work to take care of themselves, nothing good will come of it. Eventually whoever won the lottery will be broke and those they “helped” by GIVING the money to them will be in the same shape they were before.

“Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for life.”

I know a young couple with children that just needs their power bill paid and if I won I would help these kind of people and also build a homeless shelter in or near Atmore. One is needed until people get on their feet from time to time. I guess I look around too much for people in dire need so this is where some of this money would go if I was ever blessed with winning any money.

You can bet whoever it is won’t be staying around here! There’s not much in Atmore or Walnut Hill to satisfy a millionaire.

This announcement will generate more friends and family than the winner ever had.

Be mindful, cautious about what to do with your treasure.

Please hire a competent adviser in the form of an attorney or CPA to assist you in the best manner to accept this. It will save you millions in the long run in taxes and other fees the government may feel it is entitled to.

There will be snakes coming from under every rock to get “their” share.

    Congratulations and enjoy!

I get a ticket everytime we come to Florida (or GA or TN) . One day, Would LOVE to win and be able to buy a big home either on a beach or lake and turn it into a Bed and Breakfast to provide a Haven for those who take care of Mentally Handicap kids/adult family members, terminally ill or kids with disabilities. I can dream and wish <3
