Smith Completes Parris Island Training

PFC Cody Dewayne Smith graduated recently after 13 weeks of Marine Corp training at Parris Island, SC. Smith served as a squad leader during his training. He was awarded as an expert in rifle markmanship and was promoted to private first class. Smith is the son of Rex and Theresa Smith of Jay.

Congralulation. Cody I knew you would make it and I am proude you are out of the first part thing will get better you call home more and come home when you get a chance . I know your Mom and Dad missed hearing from you. Thank you for the pictures I was so glade to get one since I speak of you often. We are so very proud of you son and love you so very much! You have worked hard and done very well. Continue to do your best and then push harder. So much pride watching you march across that parade deck at Parris Island that day! Momma told you that you arrived at that island a recruit,but you would leave that island a Marine and that you did!! A great one!!We are always here if you need us and we’ll support you no matter where your journey takes you. Forever keep the faith in the one who holds the future ,our Lord Jesus Christ! The will of God will never take you to where the Grace of God will not protect you. And remember always the task ahead of you is never as great as the power behind you!!!
